This company is an Australian finance and mortgage brokerage firm based in Victoria. They position themselves as forward-thinking brokers focused on helping clients achieve long-term financial goals through personalized, adaptive, and interactive lending strategies. Leveraging a network of over 40 lenders, they guide clients through every stage of the mortgage and financing process.

Their service offerings cater to a wide range of needs, including home loans for first-time buyers, refinancing, property upgrades, and investment portfolio expansion. Additionally, they provide specialized financing solutions such as commercial and business loans, property development funding, private lending alternatives, and Self-Managed Super Fund (SMSF) loans.

Role Overview

This isn't a basic loan processing position; it is a true end-to-end file ownership role designed to support complex residential, commercial, investment, SMSF, and specialist lending scenarios. As a Senior Parabroker, you will be acting as a trusted extension of the Director and lead brokers, and playing a critical role in solving challenging credit pathways, driving client applications to settlement, and expanding broker capacity across a high-performance, entrepreneurial business.

Responsibilities:

End-to-End File Ownership & Strategy

  • Manage mortgage applications independently from initial qualification through to settlement support.
  • Review and structure complex client scenarios, analyzing income, liabilities, servicing calculations, and supporting documentation.
  • Identify policy fit and recommend optimal lender pathways across both major bank and specialist/non-conforming lenders.
  • Prepare complete, submission-ready applications complete with clear, well-supported lender rationale to maximize approval outcomes.
  • Monitor turnaround times proactively and manage every stage of the pipeline to keep applications moving efficiently.

Credit & Specialist Lending Support

  • Assess diverse lending scenarios including residential, commercial, SMSF, development, private, and specialist lending.
  • Navigate complex credit circumstances, such as self-employed structures, SME finance, defaults, credit impairment, and ATO debt.
  • Research lender policies extensively, compare viable options, and present practical loan restructuring, refinancing, or debt consolidation strategies.

Stakeholder Communication & Operational Excellence

  • Manage document collection, KYC requirements, and client follow-ups directly and professionally.
  • Liaise with key external stakeholders—including lenders, BDMs, credit assessors, valuers, and solicitors—to drive files forward.
  • Escalate potential bottlenecks early while proposing practical, commercial solutions.
  • Maintain accurate records, detailed file notes, and strict regulatory compliance within the CRM and aggregator systems

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS (Must-Have):

  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of direct experience as an Australian Para Broker, with proven end-to-end file management and ownership.
  • Lending Knowledge: Deep understanding of Australian mortgage lending policies, servicing calculators, non-conforming/specialist lending, and complex borrower structures (e.g., self-employed, SMSF, credit-impaired).
  • System Aptitude: Direct experience or rapid adaptability to Australian mortgage platforms such as Finsure Aggregator and Affinity CRM.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional written and spoken English, confident in directly managing client expectations and communicating with credit assessors and BDMs.
  • Workplace Capabilities: Strong commercial acumen, high attention to detail, and the ability to work independently with minimal oversight in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)

  • Specialist Lender Portals: Hands-on experience submitting applications through non-bank and specialist lender portals (e.g., Bluestone, Pepper Money, La Trobe Financial, Liberty, Resimac, Firstmac).
  • Product Depth: Specific background in structuring construction/development finance and private lending solutions.
  • Tech Stack: Familiarity with VPN-based secure remote environments, digital document collection platforms, VOIP phone systems, and Microsoft Teams.
