Aerones · Onsite · Riga, Riga, Latvia

Aerones is seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer to keep our offices, production sites, cloud systems and field teams reliably and securely connected. In this role, you will design and run our network infrastructure, keep field teams online through LTE/5G and Starlink, secure our network boundaries with IT Security, and use AI in your daily work to troubleshoot and document faster.

Our network has to work everywhere from the Riga office to robots on wind farms around the world, and it needs to grow with Aerones.

What You’ll Do

  • Design, implement and maintain reliable network infrastructure across our offices, production sites, cloud environments and field operations.
  • Configure and manage MikroTik, Ubiquiti, Teltonika or similar equipment, covering LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, routing, switching, firewalls, VLANs, DNS and DHCP.
  • Plan network architecture with clear segmentation, redundancy, failover, secure remote access and site-to-site connectivity, using dynamic routing such as OSPF or BGP where needed.
  • Keep field teams connected by supporting LTE/5G routers, Starlink, VPN access and bonding, and troubleshoot remotely when issues arise.
  • Monitor availability, performance and security with Grafana, Prometheus and SNMP, and take incidents through to root cause and long-term fixes.
  • Maintain firewall rules, VPN configurations and access policies together with IT Security.
  • Build and support hybrid connectivity between local infrastructure, Google Cloud and other hosted environments.
  • Use AI tools in your daily work to troubleshoot faster, analyse logs, review configurations and write documentation.
  • Keep the network documented and repeatable with diagrams, IP plans, a device inventory, configuration backups and change control.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

  • Strong hands-on experience implementing, administering and troubleshooting networks in business or industrial environments.
  • Solid knowledge of TCP/IP, routing and switching, including VLANs, subnetting, NAT and dynamic routing protocols such as OSPF or BGP.
  • Experience managing routers, switches, firewalls, access points, LTE/5G routers and VPN gateways.
  • Good knowledge of network security, including segmentation, least-privilege access, firewall policies and secure remote access.
  • Practical experience with network monitoring, alerting and logging, and the ability to trace complex issues from the ISP to the endpoint.
  • Experience supporting hybrid environments that combine office networks, local servers, cloud infrastructure and remote sites.
  • Hands-on experience using AI tools in your everyday work, for example to analyse logs, summarise incidents or draft documentation.
  • An ownership mindset, good documentation habits and professional English, which you will use daily with international teams, vendors and field crews.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with MikroTik, Ubiquiti or Teltonika platforms.
  • Network certifications such as CCNA, CCNP or equivalent.
  • Cloud networking experience in Google Cloud, AWS or Azure, such as VPCs, firewall rules and hybrid VPNs.
  • Scripting or automation experience with Python, Bash, Ansible or network APIs.

What We Offer

  • Competitive pay with a salary of €3,000–€5,000 gross/month.
  • Global impact through robotics shaping the future of renewable energy.
  • Career growth with real opportunities to learn, develop, and advance.
  • Cutting-edge technology with hands-on experience in innovative robotics.
  • Enjoy the journey with team events, celebrations, and a vibrant company culture.
  • Health insurance after your probation period.
  • Extra time to recharge with additional Health Recovery Days.
  • Learning support with paid study leave.
  • Life-event benefits to support you when it matters most.
