As a Senior Design Engineer you will be responsible for;
- Leading the design and development of mechanical systems, structural hardware, and mechanisms from early concept through production readiness.
- Creating innovative engineering solutions that meet customer requirements, performance objectives, and environmental constraints.
- Developing detailed 3D models, assemblies, engineering drawings, and manufacturing documentation.
- Performing engineering calculations, trade studies, tolerance analyses, and evaluations to support design decisions.
- Supporting multiple development programs simultaneously while maintaining quality, schedule, and technical objectives.
- Reviewing and validating engineering analyses, calculations, and design outputs to ensure technical accuracy and compliance.
- Generating complete design packages including bills of materials, assembly drawings, and release documentation.
- Supporting rapid concept development efforts, proposal activities, and customer-driven engineering studies.
- Collaborating with manufacturing, quality, systems, and test engineering teams to transition designs into production and qualification.
- Providing technical support for prototype builds, hardware integration activities, development testing, and qualification efforts.
- Serving as a technical mentor to junior engineers and contributing to the growth of engineering best practices.
- Applying sound engineering judgment to solve complex technical challenges in high-performance aerospace and defense applications.
Qualifications;
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 6+ years of experience designing aerospace, defense, or other highly engineered products and systems.
- Demonstrated success developing hardware that has progressed through testing, qualification, and implementation.
- Strong mechanical design background with expertise in engineering drawing standards and design best practices.
- Proficiency with SolidWorks and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Experience utilizing CAD and CAE tools to support product development and engineering analyses.
- Strong understanding of mechanics, material behavior, stress analysis, and engineering fundamentals.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, requirements, and engineering documentation.
- Experience creating and managing bills of materials, detailed drawings, and product definition packages.
- Working knowledge of military, aerospace, or commercial engineering specifications and standards.
Salary Range: $135,000 - $165,000
Location: Onsite in Mukilteo, WA
The actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate’s combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience
