About this Senior Manager, Enterprise Data Platform & Integration Architect role at Chanel
Senior Manager, Enterprise Data Platform & Integration Architect
At Chanel, we are focused on creating an inclusive culture that nurtures personal growth, contributing to collective progress. We believe the uniqueness of each individual increases the diversity, complementarity and effectiveness of our teams. We strongly encourage your application, as we value the perspective, experience and potential you could bring to CHANEL.
About the role:
CHANEL is looking for a Senior Manager, Enterprise Data Platform & Integration Architect, to join our Tech Enterprise Data Management (EDM) team in New York City. You will shape one cohesive technical direction across Microsoft Fabric/FDP and Azure iPaaS/middleware—turning business and technology needs into scalable, secure, supportable platform and integration patterns. This role is a key partner to Enterprise Architecture, Global platform teams, Security, BI & Analytics, application teams, and delivery partners. The ideal candidate brings 8+ years of progressive experience across data architecture, integration architecture, cloud data platforms, or related engineering disciplines, including experience leading enterprise architecture or solution-design decisions. They bring strong expertise in modern data and integration platforms and a passion for creating clarity across complex ecosystems.
What impact you can create at CHANEL:
- Own the target-state technical architecture across Microsoft Fabric/FDP and Azure iPaaS/middleware, creating one EDM direction across data platform, integration, data quality, and technical governance controls
- Translate and apply Enterprise Architecture, Global, Security, Data Governance, and platform standards into practical Fabric/FDP and Azure iPaaS architecture patterns, implementation guardrails, and production-readiness requirements for US EDM delivery
- Maintain architecture decision records and establish reusable EDM implementation patterns and guardrails aligned with Enterprise Architecture and Global standards, accelerating delivery while reducing duplication and unmanaged technical risk
- Review and challenge designs produced by internal teams and delivery partners; confirm that solutions entering EDM-controlled platforms meet architecture and production-readiness criteria
- Define build-to-run handoff requirements, support models, vendor acceptance criteria, and the technical evidence required for sustainable ownership after delivery
- Maintain the technical capability roadmap for Fabric/FDP and Azure iPaaS/middleware, providing architecture, dependency, capacity, cost, risk, and sequencing input into the integrated EDM roadmap owned by EDM leadership
- Assess platform capacity, consumption, licensing, vendor delivery capacity, resilience, technical debt, and cost-optimization opportunities to inform practical investment and architecture decisions
- Partner with Data Governance to translate standards for quality, lineage, access, control, and accountability into implementable technical patterns
- Define lifecycle-management expectations across source control, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, configuration management, environment promotion, automated testing, deployment, monitoring, and operational support
- Establish clear technical ownership and decision paths across EDM, Enterprise Architecture, Global platform teams, BI & Analytics, application teams, source-system owners, and delivery partners so solutions are routed to the appropriate accountable team before design or capacity is committed
You are energized by:
- Connecting data platforms and integration decisions into one pragmatic enterprise architecture
- Creating clarity where ownership, decision rights, or delivery models are fragmented.
- Balancing strategic platform direction with practical delivery needs and production realities
- Influencing internal teams and partners through clear standards, thoughtful challenges, and collaborative problem solving
- Designing secure, resilient, observable, and cost-conscious solutions that can be operated at scale
- Building reusable patterns that make delivery faster without adding unnecessary governance or friction
- Working across US and Global teams in a highly collaborative, evolving environment.
- Influencing architecture, engineering, and delivery decisions across teams and partners without relying on direct reporting authority
What you will bring to the team:
- 8+ years of progressive experience across data architecture, integration architecture, cloud data platforms, or related engineering disciplines, including 3+ years in a lead architecture or enterprise solution-design capacity. Hands-on experience architecting Microsoft Fabric solutions is strongly preferred
- Demonstrated architecture experience with Microsoft Fabric and Azure data services, or deep experience with comparable modern cloud data platforms supported by direct Microsoft Fabric implementation exposure. Experience should include lakehouse and warehouse patterns, data pipelines, workspace and environment strategy, security, monitoring, deployment, and production supportability
- Demonstrated ability to influence architecture and delivery decisions across teams and partners without relying on direct reporting authority
- Deep knowledge of Azure integration capabilities and enterprise integration patterns, including APIs, messaging/events, orchestration, error handling, observability, and supportability
- Strong understanding of platform lifecycle management, including source control, CI/CD, infrastructure code, configuration management, environment promotion, automated testing, monitoring, logging, and operational support practices
- Experience defining architecture standards, reference patterns, decision records, non-functional requirements, and production-readiness criteria
- Strong understanding of data quality, lineage, metadata, access controls, reconciliation, and resilience as technical control requirements
- Experience evaluating cloud capacity, consumption, licensing, vendor delivery capacity, platform costs, and technical optimization trade-offs
- Experience directing and governing partner-delivered solutions, including design review, quality expectations, production acceptance, knowledge transfer, and build-to-run handoff
- Ability to communicate complex architecture decisions in concise, plain language to technical and executive audiences
- Strong partnership skills across Enterprise Architecture, Security, Global platforms, BI & Analytics, application teams, Data Governance, and external delivery partners
- Strong understanding of platform lifecycle management, including source control, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, environment promotion, configuration management, automated testing, monitoring, and operational support practices
- Demonstrated ability to influence architecture and delivery decisions across internal teams, Global stakeholders, and external partners without direct reporting authority
