What’s on offer?

We have an opportunity for an experienced Senior Laboratory Technician to join our Northern Industries team in Cedar Creek. This is a hands-on senior role where you’ll bring strong knowledge of AS 1141, AS 1289 and relevant TMR test methods, along with proven experience in field sampling and laboratory reporting systems such as QESTLab.

If you know your way around a construction laboratory and take pride in doing good work to a high standard, you’ll fit right in.

What you’ll do:

  • Assisting with quarry laboratory operations based at Cedar Creek and possible SEQ mobile sites.

  • Undertaking compliance testing for samples of aggregate, soils, road base, and CTB material.

  • Ensuring laboratory and production facility compliance with NATA, and Department of Main Roads construction materials testing supplier registration system.

  • Ensuring compliance with all statutory health, safety, and environmental requirements.

  • Assisting with the design and performance of laboratory mix designs/ blends and quarry R&D to the required specifications.

  • Direct responsibility for source rock schedules for all materials, and Lot Control / Lot Management.

  • Assisting Laboratory Foreman and Lab Supervisor whilst ensuring all tests are reported through our reporting tool Questlab effectively.

How you’ll connect to the role:

  • Knowledge of laboratory and production facility calibration requirements.

  • Quarry and soils testing laboratory experience, techniques, and accreditation (advantageous).

  • Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with managers, engineers, and other technical staff.

  • Ability to work safely on active construction sites, perform manual handling task, complete equipment setup, and adherence to workplace health and safety requirements.

  • Demonstrated commitment to collaborative, ethical behaviour in a client-facing environment and a keen eye for detail.

  • Demonstrated skills in research, evaluation, interpretation and delivery of data.
