What this opportunity involves:

As a Senior Interior Designer at JLL, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping environments that inspire, function beautifully, and deliver exceptional value to our clients. This position combines creative vision with strategic execution, leading interior design projects from initial concept through final construction across diverse sectors including corporate workplaces, hospitality, retail, healthcare, and mixed-use developments. You'll serve as both design leader and trusted advisor, developing comprehensive design solutions that respond thoughtfully to client objectives, user needs, and site-specific opportunities while navigating the practical realities of budget, timeline, and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities include:

• Lead interior design projects from concept development through construction administration, ensuring all deliverables meet established quality standards, remain within budget parameters, and align with project timelines
• Develop innovative design concepts that synthesize client requirements, site constraints, user experience considerations, and brand identity while demonstrating creativity and technical feasibility
• Prepare compelling presentations including mood boards, material palettes, space plans, 3D visualizations, and design narratives to communicate concepts effectively to clients and stakeholders
• Produce detailed construction documentation using Revit, including floor plans, reflected ceiling plans, elevations, sections, millwork details, and comprehensive specifications that meet code compliance requirements
• Coordinate closely with architects, engineers, specialty consultants, and contractors to ensure seamless integration of interior systems with structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing infrastructure
• Oversee furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E) selection, specification, procurement, and installation processes while managing vendor relationships and ensuring on-time delivery
• Facilitate design workshops and client meetings to understand organizational culture, functional needs, aesthetic preferences, and project success criteria while building trusted relationships
• Mentor intermediate and junior designers by providing constructive feedback, delegating tasks appropriately, and supporting their professional development through knowledge sharing and guidance
• Conduct site assessments, document existing conditions, attend construction meetings, and respond to field questions to ensure design intent is maintained throughout project execution

Sounds like you? This is what we're looking for:

• Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or related discipline from an accredited institution
• 7-10 years of progressive professional experience in interior design practice, with demonstrated project leadership on complex, multi-phase projects
• Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit for 3D modeling and construction documentation development (essential requirement)
• Strong capabilities with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) for creating presentation materials, graphics, and client-facing deliverables
• Comprehensive understanding of building codes, accessibility standards (ADA/AS 1428), fire safety regulations, and National Construction Code requirements as they apply to interior design
• Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects while maintaining exceptional attention to detail, meeting deadlines, and delivering high-quality outcomes
• Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and visual, with demonstrated ability to present design concepts persuasively to senior executives and diverse stakeholder groups
• Strong space planning expertise including knowledge of ergonomics, circulation patterns, zoning strategies, and spatial efficiency optimization
• Comprehensive portfolio demonstrating range of project types, creative problem-solving, material selection expertise, technical documentation skills, and presentation capabilities
• Professional registration or certification (such as Certified Interior Designer or equivalent professional credential) or actively pursuing same (preferred)
• Experience with 3D visualization software including SketchUp, Lumion, Enscape, Rhino, or similar platforms for design development and client presentations (preferred)
• Familiarity with sustainable design principles and environmental rating systems such as Green Star, WELL Building Standard, LEED, or NABERS (preferred)
• Knowledge of workplace strategy, activity-based working principles, and contemporary workplace trends that support diverse work styles and organizational culture (preferred)
• Experience coordinating with lighting designers or demonstrated capability in lighting design fundamentals including photometric calculations and fixture specification (preferred)
• Proficiency with AI-powered design tools and generative AI platforms for concept exploration, rendering enhancement, design iteration, specification research, and documentation efficiency (preferred)
• Previous experience working on projects within the commercial real estate, corporate workplace, or hospitality sectors (preferred)
• Demonstrated business development skills including proposal preparation, client presentations, and ability to identify project opportunities (preferred)
