Senior Integration Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Integration Engineer to join our enterprise integration engineering team at PlayStation. We are responsible for delivering reusable, scalable, and loosely coupled integrations that simplify and automate business processes, improving user experience and data quality across the enterprise.
As an Integration Engineer, you will design, develop, maintain and support integration solutions using MuleSoft and SnapLogic platforms.
You will work across a wide range of integration use cases, applying modern integration patterns and best practices to connect systems across SaaS platforms, AWS-hosted COTS applications, cloud-native services, and bespoke on-premise systems. Working closely with global engineering and business teams across multiple time zones with a high degree of ownership and limited supervision.
You will have strong and demonstrable experience of industry-standard integration design patterns and approaches, including implementing API-based real-time integrations, event-driven and pub-sub architectures, asynchronous request-response, and batch/data integrations patterns across multiple integration platforms.
What you'll be doing:
Integration Architecture & Design
- Produce and maintain high-quality integration designs (HLDs and LLDs) addressing both functional and non-functional requirements.
- Select and apply appropriate integration patterns (real-time, event-driven, pub-sub, asynchronous, batch) based on business and technical requirements.
- Ensure the designs are clearly documented, socialised with the relevant stakeholders, and capture the rationale for integration design decisions.
- Define API specification and integration contracts, implementing a scalable, secure, and reusable integration solution aligned to enterprise standards (e.g. security)
- Identify risks, issues, and constraints, and communicate them timely and effectively to the stakeholders.
- Actively contribute to the integration teams best practices and design patterns maturing the teams design and delivery processes.
Integration Development
- Participate in Agile/Scrum delivery activities including sprint planning, estimation, and implementation.
- Develop, test, deploy, and support integration solutions using MuleSoft and SnapLogic, following established SDLC and DevOps practices
- Implement integrations across enterprise environments, including SaaS platforms, AWS-hosted applications, cloud-native services, and on-premise/bespoke systems
- Implement CI/CD pipelines, automated testing (e.g. MUnit or equivalent), and release management processes.
- Ensure integrations are secure, scalable, resilient, and observable, including logging, monitoring, error handling, and performance optimisation
- Leverage AWS-native messaging and eventing services (e.g. SQS and SNS) to support decoupled and event-driven integration architectures
- Collaborate with product managers, architects, and engineering managers and teams to deliver end-to-end integration solutions
- Work with core capabilities of integration platforms, including API management, gateway policies, runtime and deployment environments, data transformation, connectors/adapters, and orchestration/pipeline frameworks across MuleSoft and SnapLogic
- Drive reuse, standardisation, and continuous improvement across integration solutions and platform usage.
- Support production deployments, incident resolution, and root cause analysis activities. Participate in on-call and production support rotations.
- Work with globally distributed teams across US and Japan time zones.
What we're looking for:
- 10+ years of experience of designing and delivering enterprise integration on one or more integration platform (e.g. Informatica, Dell Boomi, OSB, or similar)
- 5+ years of experience of hand-on integration design and development experience on MuleSoft and/or SnapLogic.
- MuleSoft and/or SnapLogic certification.
- Experience with AWS SQS and SNS.
- Experience with GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Maven, ReadyAPI/Postman.
- Exposure to emerging integration approaches such as MCP Servers and agentic based integrations is desirable.
Skills
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and within globally distributed teams.
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new integration technologies and platforms.
