Our Indirect Tax team helps businesses navigate an increasingly complex VAT environment and turn regulatory challenges into opportunities. As a Senior Associate / Manager, you will work with Bulgarian and international clients on a variety of indirect tax matters, providing practical advice on business operations, transactions and transformations while building strong client relationships and supporting the development of junior team members.

Your responsibilities:

• Advise clients on VAT and indirect tax implications of business operations, transactions and reorganisations. 

• Support clients on complex domestic and international VAT matters. 

• Perform VAT reviews, health checks and risk assessments. 

• Support clients during tax audits, tax control procedures and disputes with tax authorities. 

• Prepare and review tax returns and submissions, refund claims and other tax-related documentation. 

• Participate in client meetings, presentations and training sessions. 

• Contribute to business development initiatives and identify opportunities to support clients. 

• Manage project workstreams, collaborate across teams and mentor junior colleagues. 

• Monitor legislative developments and help clients address emerging indirect tax challenges. 

What we're looking for:

• 3+ years of experience in indirect tax, tax consulting, accounting, finance or a legal role (for Senior Associate level), or 5+ years of relevant experience with proven project leadership capabilities (for Manager level). 

• Strong knowledge of Bulgarian and EU VAT legislation and practical experience in applying indirect tax rules to business operations and transactions. 

• University degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Law or a related discipline. 

• Excellent written and spoken English. 

• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills. 

• Ability to build trusted client relationships and deliver practical, business-focused advice. 

• Experience managing multiple projects and working effectively in a team environment. 

• A proactive mindset, commitment to continuous learning and interest in developing a long-term career in tax consulting. 

• Experience mentoring junior team members and contributing to business development activities would be considered an advantage. 

• Professional qualifications such as ACCA, ADIT or equivalent would be considered an advantage.
