Key Responsibilities:

• Analyse business processes and requirements to identify opportunities for workflow digitisation and automation using the Appian Low‑Code Platform.
• Design, develop, test, and deploy Appian application\workflows adhering to CoE best practices, governance, and security standards.
• Appian Applications should cover - Process Models (workflow orchestration, SLAs, escalations), SAIL Interfaces (responsive UI, validations, usability standards), Records, Reports, and Dashboards, Expression Rules, Decision Rules, and reusable components.
• Build and maintain Appian integrations using REST/SOAP APIs, Connected Systems, and Integration Objects.
• Ensure solutions are secure, scalable, and aligned with CoE standards for performance, maintainability, and reusability.
• Prepare and maintain solution documentation including functional designs, technical designs, test plans, and deployment artefacts.
• Collaborate with business SMEs, Transformation stakeholders, and Technology teams to deliver automation solutions aligned to strategic objectives.
• Support SIT/UAT, Hypercare, production monitoring, and incident management for ongoing & deployed applications.
• Provide change management for existing built Appian applications, including enhancements, issue resolution, service requests, and operational stability improvements.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, audit requirements, and information security principles.
• Apply problem‑solving and critical thinking to complex operational processes, recommending fit‑for‑purpose automation solutions.
• Participate in Intelligent Automation CoE maturity initiatives such as reusable component libraries, coding standards, templates, and best practice frameworks.

Transformation & CoE Contribution:

• Support the transformation agenda by driving efficiency improvement, process simplification, and digital capability enhancement.
• Contribute to continuous evolution of the Intelligent Automation CoE through technical innovation, new platform adoption, and pilot use cases.
• Promote automation awareness, educate business teams, and enable a culture of digital thinking.
• Ensure alignment with M&G behaviours — Tell it like it is, Own it Now, Move it Forward Together with care and integrity.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Educational Qualification

Knowledge & Skills:

Technical Skills:

• Strong hands‑on expertise (4+ years) in Appian development, configuration & troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in Appian (SAIL interface development, Process Models and workflow automation, Records, reports, CDTs, expression rules, and decision logic, Role‑based and record‑level security).
• Good understanding of API‑based integrations, JSON, and authentication mechanisms
• Working knowledge of relational databases, data modelling, and performance considerations.
• Familiarity with Appian deployment concepts, version control, and environment promotion practices.

Process & Business Skills:

• Understanding of enterprise process automation use cases such as Case management and approval workflows; Operational controls and exception handling; Compliance driven and audit ready processes
• Experience in process mapping, requirement analysis, and converting business workflows into automation logic.
• Strong problem‑solving mindset, ability to deal with ambiguity, and apply critical thinking.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders and present technical concepts clearly.

Soft Skills & Behavioural Competencies:

Experience:

• 4+ years of hands‑on experience on Appian development.
• Proven track record of delivering end‑to‑end automation solutions — analysis, build, testing, deployment & support.
• Experience working within an Intelligent Automation CoE, digital transformation team, or GCC environment preferred.
• Exposure to process optimisation, continuous improvement, and automation pipeline management.
• Experience collaborating with SMEs, business teams, and technology partners in a global or matrix environment.

Educational Qualification:

• Graduate in Engineering / Computer Science / Information Technology or related discipline.
• Appian certification (Associate or Senior Developer) is an added advantage.
