The Security Lead will be responsible for overall security services and operations across Taiwan, including governance alignment, escalation, assurance priorities and direction on security-control matters. Alongside this wider responsibility, the role leads and mentors the security team responsible for physical security operations in Taiwan.

As the security subject matter expert across Taiwan, the role acts as the key point of contact for security matters, providing leadership, operational direction and stakeholder engagement to ensure consistent, compliant and business-friendly security delivery.

Responsibilities:

  • Primary responsibility is to keep the bank and its stakeholders safe by acting as the security subject matter expert and providing effective leadership and governance for the delivery of security across Taiwan.
  • Lead by example and model behaviours that are consistent with the Control Risks values.
  • Support the client’s operational excellence programme:
  • Support the client’s broader Corporate Real Estate and workplace strategy by proactively identifying security service operational needs, potential risks, and service gaps, ensuring they are addressed through the appropriate processes and channels.
  • Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams to drive timely, high‑quality resolution of issues across all workplace environments.
  • Uphold safety, security, compliance, and confidentiality standards to maintain a reliable, well‑governed, and trusted workplace experience.
  • Contribute insights, observations, and recommendations that enhance service quality, streamline workflows, and elevate the overall employee, guest, and stakeholder experience.
  • Work collaboratively across the Corporate Real Estate function:
  • Work proactively and collaboratively across teams to anticipate needs and support colleagues, stakeholders, with a seamless, solution-oriented approach.
  • Partner with workplace, facilities, operations, and experience teams to deliver cohesive, end to end service across all zones and work environments. This may include broader campus teams.
  • Assist with events, tours, executive engagements, and special onsite activities to ensure a secure experience for employees and guests.
  • Provide flexible support across the site as needed to maintain consistent security service standards and ensure effective daily operations.
  • Oversee implementation of the partnership Security Playbook, including local security procedures for access control, CCTV, alarm monitoring, guarding, visitor management and security incident response, in alignment with global and local standards.
  • Lead and mentor security managers and supervisory teams responsible for physical security operations in Taiwan.
  • Monitor the execution by others of security guarding operations, security system maintenance, project works, and lifecycle replacements in alignment with Security Playbook, Bank stakeholder requirements, global and local standards.
  • Ensure relevant security incidents and operational escalations are documented factually, escalated through approved channels and tracked to closure.
  • Conduct local risk assessments, make recommendations on physical security measures and implement them in accordance with global and local standards, incorporating best practices and innovative thinking in the delivery of security.
  • Monitor and manage the scope definition, operational design, and appropriate metrics of all security services and ensure any recommendations or stakeholder requests are properly aligned with account leadership and documented and approved through change request procedures.
  • Maintain effective relationships with Bank stakeholders, Control Risks, vendors, landlord/property teams and relevant external contacts to support awareness of risks, issues and emerging threats.
  • Communicate with and advise relevant Bank and account stakeholders on security issues, incidents, service gaps and improvement actions.
  • Ensure through self and/or designated security supervisory and operational teams to achieve the following,  
  • Adequate training to frontline staff engaged in security systems operation, security awareness, standard operating procedures, emergency response procedures, account security standards, local and national regulations.  
  • Ensure security screening, training records and regulatory certifications are maintained. 
  • Regular review of KPI’s, performance reports, incident reports and other metrics from Operations with respect to Guarding Operations and Security Systems Maintenance delivery.
  • Support the hiring process of security staff personnel.  
  • Provide validation and sign off on major installation vendors works. 
  • Advice and guidance on security operational efficiency, cost-effective management and delivery of premises security systems and services.
  • Assists Country Head of Safety and Security in providing leadership for incident & emergency response at market, property, or site level, supporting the escalation to crisis management teams where required. Manages security incidents, follow-up investigation and reporting to all stakeholders, including coordination with regional security operations centre and safety and security research teams as appropriate.
  • Conduct performance reviews of operational manager/supervisor level security delivery.  Assists Country Head of Safety and Security in performance/behaviour related meetings regarding security staff. 
  • Conducts security inspections, security compliance reviews, control reviews of in-scope office and branch networks and presents findings and action plans, as well as advice on dispensations and risk registration to Country Head of Safety and Security and appropriate risk forums.
  • Supports client-initiated audits, inspections, and assurance reviews.

Requirements

  • Graduate degree or above.
  • 6-8 years prior commercial security experience, ideally with experience in the BFSI sector or other regulated environments. Candidates from a Facilities Management background with prior security responsibilities will be considered.
  • Diploma or formal qualification in security management desirable.
  • Professional certification in security desirable.
  • Proven managerial and leadership ability, especially in times of incident and crisis.
  • Excellent communicator able engage independently at both senior management levels and frontline levels of the organisation.
  • Ability to work effectively within structured governance, approval, and escalation frameworks
  • Able to comprehend and interpret business documents.
  • Able to respond effectively to sensitive issues.
  • Able to write reports and manuals.
  • Able to make effective and persuasive presentations on security training, concepts, and procedures to both staff, public groups and senior management stakeholders.
  • Able to forecast and prepare annual budgets, including basic financial analysis to support justification of security expenditure.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft O365 suite.
  • Good understanding of the operation of Access Control, CCTV & Alarm systems and their maintenance.
  • Basic knowledge of IP networks.
  • Good written and oral English and excellent local language ability.
