About this Research Executive role at YouGov
YouGov is building its custom research capability across Latin America, with a regional research team based in Mexico City and serving clients across the region, particularly Mexico and Brazil.
We are looking for a Research Executive to join that team and work closely with the Research Manager, our commercial teams and colleagues across YouGov.
This is a hands-on opportunity for someone looking to build a career in market research and consumer insights while helping shape a growing regional capability across Latin America. As a Research Executive, you will support custom research projects end-to-end, from questionnaire development and fieldwork through data analysis, reporting and presentation, working across different clients, industries and LATAM markets.
You will collaborate with experienced researchers and colleagues across Mexico, Brazil and the wider Americas organization, as well as YouGov’s global research, panel, operations, product and data teams. Along the way, you will develop experience using YouGov’s proprietary panels, syndicated products and other data assets alongside custom research, while helping ensure our work reflects both YouGov’s research standards and the language, culture and market realities of each country.
This is an opportunity to join the capability at an early stage, with increasing responsibility as your skills and experience develop, while contributing ideas, sharing learnings and helping build better and more efficient ways of working across the region. We are looking for someone who is curious, analytical and comfortable working with data, with an interest not only in what the numbers say, but what they mean.
Key Responsibilities
Research and Analysis
- Support the design and delivery of custom research projects across Latin America.
- Help develop questionnaires, discussion guides and other research materials.
- Review questionnaires and research materials for accuracy, clarity, logic and consistency.
- Work with research and operations teams to help set up and monitor fieldwork.
- Check data carefully and identify potential quality issues or inconsistencies.
- Analyse quantitative survey data using appropriate research and analytical techniques.
- Review and help interpret qualitative findings where relevant.
- Conduct desk research and bring together information from different sources when required.
- Develop charts, tables and other outputs that communicate findings clearly.
- Look beyond simply reporting results to identify patterns, differences and potentially important findings in the data.
- Help turn research findings into clear conclusions and useful client-facing stories.
Project Delivery
- Work closely with the Research Manager throughout the research process, from initial brief through final delivery.
- Help coordinate project timelines, deliverables and communication with internal teams.
- Work with YouGov's panel, operations and other research teams to ensure projects are delivered accurately and on time.
- Support multi-country studies involving different Latin American markets.
- Help coordinate translations and local-market adaptations of questionnaires and other research materials.
- Maintain high standards of accuracy and attention to detail across all project deliverables.
- Flag problems, inconsistencies or risks early rather than waiting until the end of a project.
Clients and Commercial Support
- Support the Senior Research Lead and LATAM commercial team in preparing research proposals, presentations and client materials.
- Participate in client meetings and presentations as appropriate.
- Help prepare analysis and materials for client workshops and presentations.
- Develop the ability to explain research findings clearly to colleagues and clients.
- As experience grows, take responsibility for presenting sections of research findings and managing parts of client projects.
- Learn to understand the business question behind a research request rather than treating research as simply a data collection exercise.
What We're Looking For
Someone relatively early in their research career who has strong analytical ability, intellectual curiosity and the potential to develop into an excellent researcher.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Approximately 1–3 years of experience in market research, consumer insights, data analysis or a related field.
- Practical experience with quantitative research (questionnaires, survey data, analysis or reporting)
- Strong analytical skills and comfort working with numbers and data.
- Very strong attention to detail.
- The ability to distinguish between an interesting number and an insight that actually matters.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across different countries, functions and levels of seniority.
- Fluency or strong professional proficiency in Spanish, Portuguese and English.
We do not expect someone at this level to already know everything. We are looking for strong fundamentals, curiosity, good judgment and a genuine desire to learn and grow.
Experience in some of the following areas would be useful, but is not required:
- Brand, advertising or campaign research, including brand tracking and effectiveness studies
- Consumer segmentation, usage and attitude studies, concept or creative testing
- Customer experience, media, entertainment, sports or sponsorship research
- Quantitative data analysis, survey questionnaire development, data visualization and presentation
- Qualitative research, including focus groups, in-depth interviews or online qualitative methods
- Multi-country or cross-cultural research and experience working with online panels
- Exposure to syndicated, behavioral or other consumer data sources
