STATUS: Full-Time             

LOCATION: St.Mary's Campus - 55 Genesee St., Rochester, NY 14611       

DEPARTMENT: Respiratory Therapy

SCHEDULE: Night shift, 12-hr. shifts 7:00 p.m. - 7:30 a.m. weekend rotation requirement every other weekend

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Patient Care. Review and evaluate history, physical exams, current vital signs, admission and current respiratory care orders for each patient; advise providers on appropriate respiratory care procedures and techniques
• Planning & Documentation. Initiate and update respiratory care plan for all patients per department policy and procedure; work collaboratively with other members of the healthcare team to implement the plan of care; monitor and document all pertinent clinical parameters and assessments on all assigned patients; modify treatment techniques based on patient response
• Education & Communication. Provide and document patient education for therapeutic procedures performed; communicate information regarding patient's clinical status to appropriate members of healthcare team; participate in the instruction and orientation of Respiratory Care team members, students, and other allied health professionals

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• AAS in a health care-related field
• Required Licensure / Certification Skills: NYS License as a Respiratory Therapist (RT) OR NYS License as a Respiratory Therapy Technician (RTT) with NBRC active credentials as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).RESPIRATORY THERAPY GRADUATES: Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy. NYS License as a Respiratory Therapy Technician (RTT) and must obtain NBRC credentials as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) within one year of hire.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Demonstrate clinical excellence.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Moderate - Clinical - Moderate clinical roles are patient facing roles that require continual movement, including standing, walking, and lifting 20–50 lbs., along with pushing and pulling medical equipment and assisting with patient positioning. Employees perform frequent bending, twisting, and reaching while completing fine motor tasks in busy or confined clinical environments. High sensory acuity is essential for monitoring patient status and responding to alarms or safety concerns. Emotional and cognitive demands are substantial, involving decision-making under pressure, responding to emergencies, and maintaining sustained focus. Environmental exposures include infectious agents, bodily fluids, chemicals, and radiation. TB testing, mask-fit testing, and physical exams are common requirements.

PAY RANGE:

$38.77 - $50.33Rochester14611

The posted pay range is a good faith representation of potential base pay for this position. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates could vary based on position details and FTE. Pay is determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, locations, and contracts.
