Pay Range

Base Salary: $70,000- $87,000 (commensurate with experience)

 

Reporting to the Director of Quality, the Quality Improvement Lead provides organization-wide expertise in quality improvement, accreditation readiness, and the use of performance measurement and data to drive better outcomes.

The Lead advances initiatives aligned with VHA’s strategic priorities and Quality Improvement Plan, while building organizational capability to apply improvement methods, use measurement, sustain meaningful change and maintain accreditation readiness.

The role provides consultation, coaching, facilitation and education to leaders and teams in applying quality improvement methods and evidence-informed approaches, while fostering a culture of learning and continuous improvement.

Key Areas of Accountability:

VHA’s Quality Improvement Lead will be required to do the following tasks, but not limited to:

• Lead and/or facilitate organization-wide and cross-functional quality improvement initiatives aligned with VHA's strategic priorities and annual Quality Improvement Plan.
• Apply and advise on quality improvement methodologies, including the Model for Improvement/PDSA, Lean, process improvement and root cause analysis.
• Partner with leaders and teams to identify opportunities, test change ideas, measure results and sustain gains.
• Provide consultation, coaching, and education to build quality improvement capability.
• Develop meaningful measures, targets and measurement plans to monitor progress and outcomes.
• Analyze and interpret data to identify trends, variation, patterns, gaps, and potential contributing factors to guide decision-making.
• Coordinate and support organizational accreditation readiness through standards monitoring, evidence management and action plan completion.
  

 Required Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in quality improvement, health sciences, healthcare or business administration, public health, health informatics or a related discipline.
• Minimum five years of progressive experience in healthcare quality improvement, performance improvement, accreditation, data analytics or a related field, including experience leading or facilitating cross-functional improvement initiatives.
• Demonstrated knowledge and practical application of quality improvement methodologies and improvement science.
• Demonstrated ability to use, analyze interpret and communicate quality and performance data to identify opportunities, evaluate outcomes and support decision-making.
• Demonstrated experience supporting healthcare accreditation.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
• Proficiency in using data analysis, visualization and process-mapping tools to support quality improvement including Excel, Visio, Whiteboard and related mapping or statistical analysis tools.
• Experience in change and/or project management.
• Experience providing education, coaching and facilitation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate findings into clear recommendations.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, manage competing priorities and build effective relationships within a complex, fast-paced healthcare environment.
