Position Overview:
Zeeco India is seeking a Quality Control (QC) Engineer with 3 to 6 years of experience in the fabrication and inspection of pressure vessels, process equipment, structural steel, piping, and skid-mounted systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable codes, client specifications, and Zeeco's Quality Management System throughout all stages of manufacturing.
The role requires strong technical knowledge of fabrication processes, welding, metallurgy, inspection techniques, documentation, and quality assurance practices, along with the ability to coordinate effectively with engineering, production, procurement, clients, third-party inspection agencies, and certification bodies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with ASME, ASTM, EN, ISO, IS, IBR, client specifications, and internal Quality Management System (QMS) requirements.
- Perform quality inspections across all manufacturing stages, including raw material receipt, fabrication, fit-up, welding, NDT, heat treatment, pressure testing, final visual & dimensional inspection, surface preparation, painting, packing, and preservation.
- Coordinate Kick-off Meetings (KOM), Pre-Inspection Meetings (PIM), and inspection activities with Clients, Third-Party Inspection Agencies (TPIA), Authorized Inspectors (AI), consultants, and suppliers. Quality Documentation:
- Prepare, review, and maintain ITPs, QAPs, Weld Maps, WPS/PQR, Welder Qualifications (WPQ), NDE, Heat Treatment, Pressure Test, PMI/Ferrite Testing, Surface Preparation & Painting, Packing & Preservation procedures, along with inspection reports, test records, and quality documentation. Engineering & Material Control:
- Review engineering drawings, BOMs, material specifications, and project requirements to ensure compliance with applicable codes and latest revisions.
- Prepare Technical Delivery Conditions (TDCs) and coordinate raw material inspections, MTC verification, traceability, supplier quality activities, and Inspection Release Notes (IRNs). Welding, Metallurgy & NDT:
- Review and implement WPS/PQR, verify welder qualifications, monitor welding parameters, and ensure compliance with essential, non-essential, and supplementary essential variables.
- Possess sound knowledge of Carbon Steel, Low Alloy Steel, Austenitic Stainless Steel, material selection, and sensitization.
- Coordinate and review VT, PT, MT, RT, UT, PMI, and Ferrite Testing, ensuring compliance with project specifications and acceptance criteria. Heat Treatment, Pressure Testing & Surface Protection:
- Monitor PWHT, stress relieving, normalizing, annealing, and other heat treatment processes, selecting appropriate methods based on material and code requirements.
- Coordinate hydrostatic and pneumatic pressure testing, ensuring compliance with approved procedures.
- Inspect surface preparation, blasting, pickling & passivation, industrial painting systems, DFT measurements, packing, preservation, and export shipment requirements. Quality Management & Continuous Improvement:
- Manage NCRs, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Corrective & Preventive Actions (CAPA), customer complaints, and continual improvement initiatives.
- Develop and update SOPs, QC procedures, and maintain compliance with the Quality Management System (QMS). Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, Project Management, Clients, Suppliers, and Inspection Agencies to resolve quality issues, maintain documentation, and ensure timely project execution.
