About the role

WPP Enterprise Solutions in Amsterdam is home to the PXM (Product Experience Management) Centre of Excellence. We help global brands manage, enrich and syndicate their product content to retailers and marketplaces, covering the full product content supply chain from data model and PIM to the digital shelf. Our team of Business Consultants, Business Analysts, Configuration Specialists, Solution Architects and engineers works across the Netherlands, Spain and India, and is growing. We are therefore looking for a Business Analyst - PXM to strengthen our delivery teams.

This is not a generic Business Analyst role. Product data is the substance of the work: attribute models, taxonomies, validation rules, retailer requirements and syndication. Here, requirements are data requirements as much as process requirements.

You run business analysis independently on a defined scope, typically one work stream within a larger client programme. A Senior Business Analyst or Business Consultant sets the overall approach; you own the requirements for your part of it and work directly with the client to get them right.

What you will do

As a Medior Business Analyst, you are responsible for the quality of the requirements in your work stream, so that what gets built is what the client actually needs.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing and running elicitation for your workstream: interviews, workshops, document analysis of existing data and retailer specifications, and observation of how teams really work with product data.
  • Arriving prepared: knowing what you must leave each session knowing, asking the questions that surface the real requirement behind the stated one, and confirming results with stakeholders afterwards.
  • Specifying requirements using process and data models, user stories, acceptance criteria and functional and non-functional analysis, and verifying and validating them with the client.
  • Analysing product data: attribute models, hierarchies, taxonomies, validation rules, data quality requirements and digital asset needs.
  • Translating retailer and channel requirements into syndication requirements across the methods we use, from catalogue and file exports to API, GS1/GDSN and direct connections.
  • Managing traceability, prioritisation and change for your workstream, and maintaining the backlog together with the Business Consultant or Product Owner.
  • Working closely with Configuration Specialists, Solution Architects and developers on our PIM/PXM platforms, so that what gets built matches what was agreed.
  • Preparing and supporting testing and UAT, and checking delivered solutions against the requirements.

The expertise we are looking for

For this role, we are looking for someone who combines solid business analysis practice with genuine curiosity about product data.

You have a strong understanding of:

  • Elicitation techniques such as interviews, workshops, document analysis and observation, and how to prepare for them.
  • Requirements specification: user stories, acceptance criteria, process and data modelling, and functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Product data structures: attributes, hierarchies, taxonomies, validation rules and data quality.
  • Requirements traceability, prioritisation and change management in Agile delivery.
  • Testing and UAT, and how to check a delivered solution against its requirements.
  • PIM/PXM and how product content flows from brand to retailers and marketplaces.

You do not need to know every PXM platform or retailer specification. However, we do expect you to be comfortable with data, to ask precise questions, and to learn our frameworks and tools quickly.

What medior means to us

Being medior means more than writing good user stories once someone has handed you the scope.

We expect you to own the requirements for your work stream independently: prepare and run elicitation without hand-holding, challenge a requirement when it doesn’t match the problem, and know when to involve a Senior Business Analyst, Consultant or specialist. Your growth path is mapped to WPP’s Career Architecture, the BABOK standard and our PXM Playbook; the next step, Senior, means owning the requirements for whole domains and setting the elicitation strategy.

You will also:

  • Learn and apply our PXM frameworks, including the Digital Shelf Maturity Roadmap, the PXM Capabilities Maturity Model and our syndication methods.
  • Contribute templates, checklists and examples from your projects to our PXM Playbook.
  • Use AI and tooling to make recurring analysis, such as data audits and attribute mapping, faster and more reliable.
  • Share what you learn with other Business Analysts and help new colleagues find their way.
  • Act as a reliable, well-prepared counterpart for the client teams you work with.

What you'll need:

  • 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Functional Consultant or similar, including client-facing work.
  • Currently based in the Netherlands and able to work from our WPP office in Amsterdam.
  • Examples you can walk us through of running elicitation and writing requirements independently on a defined scope.
  • Comfort with data: you can read, question and design attribute structures, hierarchies and validation rules.
  • Experience in Agile delivery: backlog refinement, user stories, testing and UAT.
  • Experience with Salsify, Syndigo or another PIM/PXM platform, and familiarity with GS1/GDSN and product data governance, is a strong plus.
  • A curious and proactive mindset, with an interest in how AI and new commerce channels are changing product content and the digital shelf.
  • Fluent in English.

What we offer:

We offer a vibrant and collaborative culture and opportunities for professional growth. You'll be part of a global network of talent, working on projects that truly make an impact.

Our compensation:

A gross annual salary of €50,000.00 - €64,500.00 (inclusive of 8% holiday pay) based on experience level.

  • Hybrid working flexibility.
  • Access to learning platforms.
  • Wellbeing initiatives including mental health support programs and wellness activities.
  • Employee discounts and access to WPP/VML global benefits ecosystem.
  • Participation in team events, agency gatherings and cross-discipline workshops.
  • At WPP ES, we believe in investing in people who build long-term value for our clients and their customers. Your growth is part of our growth.
