About this Project Accountant role at IBMC
IBMC is assisting a client in hiring a vital project finance professional. Our client is a premier real estate and luxury villa development group dedicated to crafting high-end, buildable, and culturally aligned properties across Southeast Asia. Powering rigorous cost allocation and financial integrity, they are expanding their corporate operational structure across key regional paradise destinations.
We are seeking a highly detail-oriented, accurate, and autonomous Project Accountant (Real Estate / Villa Development) to take ownership of the financial control for specific villa construction projects. Based permanently on-site in Lombok, this hands-on role manages vendor payments, purchase order workflows, and real-time project cost tracking. Your goal is to ensure all construction expenditures are properly recorded, fully documented, and aligned with agreed project scopes and budgets.
Key Responsibilities
- Payment Management: Process timely and accurate payments to trade contractors, materials suppliers, and external consultants, verifying that pay requests align with certified progress and contract terms.
- Purchase Order Administration: Prepare, issue, and track purchase orders in close coordination with site logistics, technical teams, and procurement managers.
- Project Cost Tracking: Record and categorize all project-related expenditures, ensuring strict cost allocation against designated work breakdown structures and budgets.
- Financial Control & Documentation: Maintain complete audit trails for project finances, verifying that all certifications, tax invoices, and sign-offs are secured prior to disbursement.
- Project Manager Support: Collaborate directly with the Project Manager to monitor project burn rates, review cost variances, and provide clear financial visibility into site operations.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
Relevant Experience: Proven track record in project accounting, cost control, or financial administration—ideally within construction, civil engineering, or real estate development projects.
Process Knowledge: Solid understanding of payment processing workflows, purchase order lifecycle management, and project cost tracking.
Budget Alignment: Demonstrated ability to manage project budgets and reconcile actual costs against contract scopes.
Systems Proficiency: Familiarity with ERP or specialized accounting software suites (experience with project-based financial systems is a plus).
Communication & Language: Good English communication skills, both written and spoken, to interact with contractors, suppliers, and internal management.
Soft Skills & Autonomy: High level of accuracy, strong organizational skills, discretion, and the ability to operate independently when managing financial records.
Presence & Mobility: Currently based in Lombok or fully open to relocating to a permanent, on-site position in Lombok, Indonesia.
