Position Summary

The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading and coordinating daily manufacturing operations to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production. This position provides hands-on leadership to production employees, drives continuous improvement, and ensures that production schedules, quality standards, and customer requirements are consistently achieved.

The Production Supervisor works closely with Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and other cross-functional teams to resolve production issues, improve processes, and support the overall operational goals of Boyd Thermal by Eaton.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop production employees to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and productivity objectives.
  • Plan and coordinate daily production activities based on customer demand, production schedules, labor availability, and material requirements.
  • Monitor production performance and key performance indicators (KPIs), including safety, scrap, productivity, downtime, throughput, and on-time delivery.
  • Ensure employees follow established work instructions, standard operating procedures, quality requirements, and safety policies.
  • Maintain a strong focus on workplace safety and promote a proactive safety culture.
  • Identify production bottlenecks, downtime, quality issues, and process inefficiencies and implement corrective actions.
  • Work with Quality and Engineering teams to investigate nonconformances and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Support Lean Manufacturing and continuous-improvement initiatives, including 5S, standard work, waste reduction, visual management, and root-cause analysis.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance to address equipment breakdowns, preventative maintenance requirements, and recurring equipment issues.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing and labor allocation to meet production requirements.
  • Train and cross-train employees to improve workforce flexibility and operational coverage.
  • Conduct shift meetings, communicate production priorities, and ensure effective handoffs between shifts.
  • Review production reports and communicate performance, issues, and improvement opportunities to management.
  • Enforce company policies and procedures while maintaining a positive, respectful, and accountable work environment.
  • Assist with employee performance management, attendance, scheduling, and development.
  • Support implementation and validation of new processes, equipment, products, and manufacturing methods.
  • Maintain accurate production records and ensure compliance with applicable company and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform other duties as required to support manufacturing operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent manufacturing experience may be considered.
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment, with supervisory or team-lead experience preferred.
  • Experience leading hourly production employees in a high-volume or engineered manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, production scheduling, quality systems, and workplace safety.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Ability to interpret production data and use KPIs to drive operational improvements.
  • Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with ERP/MRP and manufacturing systems.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in thermal management, heat exchangers, cooling systems, electronics cooling, or other precision manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with Eaton or similar industrial manufacturing environments.
  • Lean/Six Sigma training or certification.
  • Experience with root-cause analysis, 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, or similar problem-solving tools.
  • Experience implementing 5S, Kaizen, standard work, visual management, and other Lean practices.
  • Experience working in an ISO-certified manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, brazing, welding, assembly, or other relevant manufacturing processes.

Work Environment

This position is primarily based in a manufacturing facility and requires regular presence on the production floor. The Production Supervisor may be required to stand and walk for extended periods and work around manufacturing equipment, materials, noise, and other typical production-floor conditions. Flexibility to support varying shifts, overtime, or changing production requirements may be required.

The successful candidate will be a visible floor leader who can solve problems quickly, develop employees, collaborate across departments, and create sustainable improvements in manufacturing performance.

Base compensation $80,00-$100,000 plus bonus eligible.
