What You’ll Be Part Of

As a Molding Process Technician I, you will support molding operations by helping ensure Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost performance while applying the HARMAN Production System philosophy. You will validate new and existing molding processes using standardized tools and methodologies, support corrective actions, resolve production and quality issues related to plastic resin processing, and help maintain organized process documentation and control sheets.

Your Team

You will report to the Sr. Molding Engineering Manager and collaborate with Molding Engineering, Production, Quality, EHSS, and manufacturing teams to support efficient, safe, and stable molding processes.

How You’ll Make An Impact

• Validate new and existing molding processes using standardized tools and methodologies such as SIM, DOE, and decoupled molding.
• Participate in internal activities and required corrective actions to improve molding process performance.
• Correct problems reported by Production and/or Quality related to the processing of plastic resins.
• Keep process reports and control sheets updated, organized, and available for operational follow-up.
  Maintain a clean and organized work area while applying the department’s established 5S standards.
• Report any risk situation or unsafe condition detected during the performance of assigned duties.
• Comply with required safety measures to prevent accidents and environmental contingencies.
• Apply SMED methodology to support efficient model changes.
• High school diploma.
• Five years of experience in plastic injection.
• Five years of experience working with PP, ABS, and PC resins with fiber and additives.
• Five years of experience with molds, valve gates, and hot runner systems.
• Experience with Engel machines and high-tonnage equipment, including 1500-ton machines.
• Experience handling servo-driven and pneumatic-driven robots.
• Basic Microsoft Office skills, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
• Basic English proficiency.
• Availability, responsibility, engagement, dynamism, and a proactive mindset.
• Injection molding certification, such as CENALTEC.
• Testable knowledge of scientific molding.
• This role is based in a manufacturing environment and requires close collaboration with Molding Engineering, Production, Quality, EHSS, and operations teams.
• This position requires strong focus on Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost indicators.
• The role supports molding process stability, corrective actions, process documentation, 5S standards, safety practices, and model change efficiency.
