The mission of our Fashion Design Department is to design beautiful product that inspires our clients, exceeds their aspirations, and elevates our brand.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Aritzia is growing and our team of Fashion Designers is growing with it. This is a unique opportunity to be part of the team responsible for translating Aritzia’s Everyday Luxury ethos into seasonal collections that serve every function of our client’s life, together creating a complete and cohesive wardrobe for wherever she is, whatever she may be doing.

We are seeking high-potential talent for opportunities spanning Associate Designers to seasoned Design Directors with experience at industry-leading fashion houses. Whether you are an emerging creative or world-class design professional, you will play an integral role in identifying the fashion influences for, defining the creative concepts of, and designing the styles within a seasonal Aritzia collection. Assigned to a specific area of the broader Aritzia label assortment, you will own collection development across multiple product categories, overseeing each stage of sampling and style development to ensure your creative vision is brought to life.

At Aritzia, our Everyday Luxury positioning enables us to make every decision in relentless pursuit of exceptional quality across every product element – from fabric development and trims design to the choices for our seasonal colour palettes, every decision is well considered and made with intention. As the creative heart of style design, you will partner closely with other departments across our Product Division who as a collective, will work to bring your creative vision to life across creative, technical, and manufacturing decisions. Supported by expert cross-functional teams across our product lifecycle, as well as best-in-class production partners, you can focus on what you are here to do – design.

Our growing global presence amplifies the reach of your creative vision, bringing your designs to life and into the wardrobes of our clients through an expansive network of retail boutiques and multi-faceted digital environments. Together, these thoughtfully curated touchpoints will place your product at the heart of every client experience. After all, creativity is at the core of everything we do, and we want our clients to feel it in every interaction with our brand.

THE ROLE

Depending on your level of experience and seniority, you will contribute to or lead one of more of the following focus areas:

·         Identify and synthesize upcoming trends, runway inspiration, cultural influences, and best-in-class product elements across the fashion landscape to inform seasonal design direction, communicating these to cross-functional creative partners

·         Define the theme and relevant design concepts for each seasonal collection that will inspire our Aritzia client and deliver on her emotional and functional needs

·         Translate the overarching creative vision into a cohesive assortment of style designs for a given seasonal collection

·         Refine, perfect, and approve the details of each style, ensuring each product element is executed with excellence to elevate our brand

THE QUALIFICATIONS

A designer at Aritzia has:

• Proven and best-in-class skills, applicable certifications, education and/or experience in fashion collection design, creative sketching, and adobe illustrator proficiency
  • Experience using AI-enabled tools and technologies to support creative design ideation and sketching is preferred
• The skills to collaborate strategically with cross-functional partners in the pursuit of shared business outcomes
• A dedication to quality and investing in results and new business opportunities that add value
• A deep understanding, passion, and commitment for the industry in which we operate
• A key representation of Aritzia’s brand vision, aesthetic, and style fundamentals with a focus on trends and cultural influences
