What qualifications do you look for in a tutor?

  • Completed at least one semester at UWSP with at least two semesters remaining
  • Demonstrate a strong grasp of course material and/or written skills as evidenced by a 3.0 GPA or above and/or a faculty recommendation letter.
  • Available to tutor for at least two semesters
  • Willing to work with peers in a collaborative, inclusive learning environment
  • Enjoy helping others learn

What are the expectations of this position?

  • Provide tutoring and support in one of our service areas
  • Assist learners in the development of effective study skills and test-taking strategies
  • Learn and continually apply TLC and tutoring program procedures
  • Regularly check staff email and communicate with other staff members
  • Attend required orientations, meetings, and training sessions​
