About this Operational Risk Senior Manager - HIH - Evernorth role at The Cigna Group
The Third-Party Risk Management Senior Manager leads the identification, assessment, monitoring, mitigation, and reporting of risk across an assigned portfolio of third parties. A key function of this position is to establish effective third-party risk governance, oversee completion and quality of risk assessments, challenge control effectiveness, manage material issues, and reduce operational, information security, privacy, business continuity, financial, compliance, contractual, and regulatory exposure. The role is accountable for implementing GPTPMS risk management standards, leading cross-functional risk initiatives, and translating risk information into clear decisions and risk treatment actions across Cigna’s supplier ecosystem.
This role requires regular interaction with senior leadership and close partnership with business owners, Third Party Management, Sourcing, Legal, Compliance, Information Security, Privacy, Finance, Business Continuity, and other subject matter experts. The Senior Manager provides risk oversight and credible challenges, leads complex risk escalations and remediation, supports risk-informed contracting and sourcing decisions, and strengthens risk management capability. Strong knowledge of third-party risk frameworks, controls, commercial contracts, regulatory expectations, data analysis, and executive communication is essential.
