Job Title: Murex System Analyst 

Experience Level: Junior (L2: 3–5 years) 

Location: Kuala Lumpur 

Job Summary: 
We are seeking a detail-oriented Murex System Analyst to support risk and data science initiatives within the Murex ecosystem. The role involves analyzing system requirements, supporting data workflows, and ensuring seamless integration between Murex and big data platforms such as Hadoop. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, basic Murex exposure, and hands-on experience working with data platforms in a banking or financial services environment. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Gather, analyze, and document business and system requirements related to risk and data analytics 

  • Support integration between Murex systems and Hadoop-based data platforms 

  • Work closely with developers, data engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver functional solutions 

  • Perform data analysis, validation, and reconciliation to ensure data accuracy and consistency 

  • Assist in system testing, UAT support, and defect resolution 

  • Provide L2 support for production issues, including troubleshooting and root cause analysis 

  • Prepare functional and technical documentation for system processes and enhancements 

  • Ensure adherence to SDLC and change management processes

Required Skills: 

  • 3–5 years of experience as a System Analyst in banking or financial services 

  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of Murex platform and workflows 

  • Hands-on experience with Hadoop ecosystem 

  • Strong SQL skills with experience in SQL Server 2012 

  • Understanding of data analysis, data mapping, and system integration concepts 

  • Familiarity with Windows Server environments (Windows 2012) 

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills 

  • Experience supporting L2 production environments 

Nice-to-Have Skills: 

  • Exposure to risk management or data science use cases in banking 

  • Familiarity with big data tools (Hive, HDFS, Spark) 

  • Understanding of trade lifecycle or financial instruments 

  • Experience working in Agile environments 

  • Knowledge of ETL processes or data warehousing concepts 

  • Basic scripting or automation knowledge 

  • Exposure to reporting or analytics tools for risk and performance monitoring
