Job Title: Medical Assistant (Scheduling & Member Outreach)

Job Summary

The Medical Assistant will support healthcare providers by contacting members, educating them on preventive healthcare benefits, and scheduling appointments for Annual Wellness Visits (AWV), preventive screenings, and primary care consultations. The role requires strong communication skills, healthcare knowledge, and the ability to engage members over the phone.

Key Responsibilities

Member Outreach & Scheduling

• Contact members via outbound calls to schedule healthcare appointments.
• Educate members on available healthcare benefits and preventive services.
• Schedule, reschedule, and confirm appointments in the scheduling system.
• Follow up with members regarding missed appointments and callback requests.
• Handle inbound inquiries related to appointments and healthcare programs.
• Accurately document call outcomes and member interactions.

Healthcare Coordination

• Review member eligibility and appointment requirements.
• Assist members in understanding Annual Wellness Visits, preventive screenings, and care gap closures.
• Coordinate with provider offices and internal teams to secure appointment availability.
• Escalate clinical concerns to the appropriate healthcare professional.

Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain accurate member records within EMR/CRM platforms.
• Ensure HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality.
• Meet quality, productivity, and attendance expectations.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

• High School , Diploma or GED.
• Medical Assistant Certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA) preferred.
• 1+ year experience in healthcare, care coordination, patient scheduling, or call center operations.
• Basic understanding of medical terminology.
• Strong verbal communication and patient engagement skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and healthcare systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Medicare Advantage members.
• Experience in appointment scheduling, patient outreach, or population health programs.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
• Knowledge of preventive care and healthcare benefits.
