Medical Assistant II - Primary Care

Join Our Team!

We are seeking an experienced and patient-focused Medical Assistant II to join our growing Primary Care team. This position plays a vital role in supporting physicians and providers by delivering exceptional patient care, maintaining efficient clinic operations, and ensuring accurate clinical documentation.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience working in a primary care or family medicine setting and be comfortable supporting both clinical and administrative functions in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Room patients and obtain vital signs.
• Review and document patient medical history, medications, allergies, and chief complaints.
• Prepare patients for exams, procedures, and treatments.
• Assist physicians and providers with examinations, procedures, injections, specimen collection, and point-of-care testing.
• Administer injections and perform EKGs as ordered.
• Process prescription refills and medication requests.
• Assist with prior authorizations and medication coverage workflows.
• Complete patient follow-up tasks, documentation updates, and care coordination activities.
• Maintain accurate records within Athena EMR.
• Ensure exam rooms, medical equipment, and supplies are stocked, clean, and ready for patient care.
• Monitor clinical inventory and report supply needs.
• Support a collaborative environment by assisting team members and promoting excellent patient experiences.

Qualifications

Required

• 1-2 years of Medical Assistant experience.
• Experience working in a Primary Care, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Pediatric setting.
• Experience performing EKGs.
• Experience administering injections.
• Experience processing medication refills.
• Experience with medication prior authorizations.
• Strong organizational, communication, and patient-service skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a care team.

Preferred

• Medical Assistant certification (not required).
• Experience in a high-volume outpatient clinic environment.
• Athena experience Or any other EMR system
