Job Summary

Support the design, testing, analysis, and documentation of electrical actuators. The role involves reviewing customer specifications, developing reliable mechanical and mechatronic designs, validating performance through testing and analysis, and delivering high-quality engineering outputs on time.

Job Responsibilities

  • Review customer specifications, reference documents, and design inputs; identify discrepancies and propose suitable technical solutions.
  • Develop and check electrical actuator designs for form, fit, function, manufacturability, assembly, safety, material selection, and operational reliability.
  • Prepare detailed drawings, 3D models, BOMs, engineering calculations, analysis reports, and other required technical documentation.
  • Perform structural, thermal, vibration, and performance analysis to validate component and actuator designs.
  • Plan and execute functional, durability, thermal, environmental, and performance testing for actuators and related systems.
  • Support integration of mechanical, electrical, and control-system elements including sensors, feedback mechanisms, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
  • Follow approved engineering standards, design procedures, project specifications, and design-authority guidelines.
  • Conduct self-checks and participate in critical design reviews for complex assignments.
  • Coordinate with customers, GTEC job coordinators, specialists, and team leads on design progress, technical clarifications, and schedule variations.
  • Support continuous improvement through root-cause analysis, FMEA, design optimization, and automation of engineering calculations where applicable.

Main Objectives

  • Deliver safe, reliable, and cost-effective electrical actuator designs meeting customer and project requirements.
  • Ensure design quality, accuracy, compliance, and on-time completion of engineering deliverables.
  • Improve actuator performance, durability, manufacturability, and serviceability through robust engineering analysis and validation.
  • Maintain effective technical communication with internal stakeholders and customers throughout the assignment lifecycle.
  • Drive continuous improvement in design processes, testing methods, and engineering documentation.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical actuator design or related mechanical/mechatronic product design.
  • Strong experience in mechanical design, assembly design, component design, and engineering calculations.
  • Knowledge of electrical actuator systems, sensors, feedback mechanisms, and control-system integration.
  • Experience in testing and validation, including functional, durability, thermal, environmental, and vibration testing.
  • Good understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including pumps, valves, and actuators.
  • Experience in structural, thermal, and vibration analysis.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD, preferably SolidWorks, including drawings, assemblies, BOMs, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Experience with Windchill PLM.
  • Knowledge of relevant standards such as ASME, API, DIN, and ISO.
  • Working knowledge of Python or MATLAB for calculations, simulations, automation, or data analysis is preferred.
