Mechanical Design Engineer Level II

As a Mechanical Design Engineer Level II, you will be part of a cross-functional engineering team responsible for the design, development, and validation of industrial automation products and electronic packaging solutions. You will work closely with electrical engineers, hardware engineers, manufacturing teams, product managers, and quality engineers to deliver reliable mechanical designs that meet customer and requirements.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Develop new mechanical designs and modify existing products using PTC Creo / Siemens NX based on electromechanical design principles.
  • Create detailed 3D CAD models, assemblies, drawings, and documentation for product development.
  • Design electronic packaging solutions for industrial automation products.
  • Collaborate with electrical, hardware, manufacturing, and quality teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Perform tolerance stack-up analysis and apply GD&T (ASME Y14.5) standards.
  • Conduct design verification activities and support prototype development and testing.
  • Apply DFM/A (Design for Manufacturing & Assembly) and DFMEA methodologies to improve product quality and manufacturability.
  • Support product sealing, ingress protection (IP) requirements, and regulatory compliance testing.
  • Manage product data and documentation using PLM/PDM systems such as SAP and Windchill.
  • Improve programmes for engineering processes and design practices.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide technical recommendations.
  • Support PPAP activities, tooling reviews, supplier interactions, and manufacturing readiness.

The Essentials – You Will Have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical design and product development.
  • Hands-on experience with:PTC Creo or Siemens NX (UG-NX)Electronic packaging designPlastic and sheet metal component designSAP and/or WindchillGD&T (ASME Y14.5)Tolerance Stack-Up AnalysisDFM/A and DFMEA
  • Understanding of product lifecycle management (PLM) processes.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes for plastic, metal, and electromechanical assemblies.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional global teams.

The Preferred – You Might Also Have:

  • Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering with specialization in Product Design.
  • Experience with industrial automation products such as PLCs, HMIs, industrial connectors, or similar products.
  • Knowledge of ingress protection (IP) ratings and environmental sealing requirements.
  • Experience supporting regulatory and product compliance testing.
  • Familiarity with product simulation and validation tools.
  • Exposure to CorelDraw, Adobe Illustrator, or rendering software.
  • Experience leading design improvement projects and engineering process enhancements.
  • Patent filings, innovation projects, or published technical papers.
  • Ability to mentor junior engineers and guide small project teams.
  • Experience working in Agile or global engineering environments.
