Manager, Software Engineering

MasterCard is seeking talented individuals to join our Network Solutions team in Pune, India. MasterCard is researching and developing the next generation of products and services to enable consumers to securely, efficiently, and intelligently conduct transactions regardless of channel.

Role:
Engineering Managers will split their time between Technical (70%), Managerial (20%) and Recruiting (10%) activities.
What you will do:
• Leadership
o Leading two teams across functions like
• PI Planning
• Production support
• Enhancements
• Fresh development
o Assisting teams on their day to day work by
• Highlighting issues they may come across for the work they are taking
• Being able to define the infra and other asks for upcoming features and coordinating with TPM to raise exchanges
• Working closely with PMT to identify upcoming work
o Tech
• Being able to review code, groom the team technically
• Identify and maintain tech debt and plan for their completion
• Own technical backlogs
o Atmosphere
• Create and sustain an atmosphere where teams are having fun at work
• Being approachable and open to feedback from peers and juniors alike
• Tech inputs
o Coordinating with operations team to ensure apps developed are good from operability perspective
o Working with architects (tech and solution), challenging their designs
o Owning continuous refactor of code and its plan
• Support
o Arrange and provide for 24X7 support for the products and solutions developed by the team
• Agility
o Ability to navigate uncertianities and changes in requirements while keeping the teams morale high

All About You:
• You are an excellent communicator - able to understand and explain complex ideas clearly, orally or in writing.
• You are a self-starter capable of identifying problems or areas of opportunity and implementing solutions.
• You must be able to motivate a team, inspiring folks to do their best work.
• You must have solid understanding and hands-on experience in Java, J2EE, Spring, Spring Boot, RESTful web services, Event Driven Architecture are a MUST
• Solid understanding and experience integrating as well as building scalable and performing web services
• Experience identifying and remediating vulnerabilities
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Engage and manage a team of software engineers, including task planning and code reviews.
