The Role

• Define and execute integration validation approaches for Transaction Switching capabilities across interconnected systems, applications, and services.
• Analyse complex payment transaction flows across authorization, advice, reversal, clearing and other related payment-processing lifecycle scenarios.
• Assess product behaviour across upstream and downstream systems to ensure capabilities meet intended business and technical outcomes.
• Identify functional gaps, integration issues, dependencies, and potential customer impacts through detailed analysis of transaction flows and system interactions.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Owners, Engineering, Architecture, and other product teams to drive product readiness and successful delivery.
• Apply strong knowledge of ISO payment protocols, transaction messaging, system interfaces, and data flows when evaluating new or changed capabilities.
• Analyse production issues and customer insights to identify functional gaps, improve product capabilities, and strengthen future delivery.
• Contribute to automation and self-service capabilities that improve repeatability, coverage, and efficiency of product validation.
• Participate in solution reviews, requirement walkthroughs, design discussions, and readiness assessments, providing a payments-domain and end-to-end integration perspective.
• Support defect and issue analysis by tracing transactions across system boundaries and helping identify the functional or integration point responsible for unexpected behaviour.
• Communicate effectively and coordinate with globally distributed teams including Business Owners, Product Owners, Engineering, Enterprise Architecture, and dependent product teams.
All About You
• Bachelor's or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience working with complex transactional platforms, payment systems, or other highly integrated enterprise applications.
• Strong knowledge of the cards and payments domain, including payment transaction lifecycle, message flows, processing rules, and system interactions.
• Hands-on understanding of authorization, advice, reversal, clearing, and related payment-processing flows.
• Working knowledge of payment messaging standards such as ISO 8583 and ISO 20022.
• Ability to understand business and technical requirements and translate them into functional scenarios, transaction flows, expected outcomes, and acceptance criteria.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to troubleshoot complex integration scenarios across multiple applications and services.
• Experience with end-to-end functional and integration validation of distributed applications and interconnected systems.
• Familiarity with payment simulation or transaction-generation tools such as T3 or equivalent.
• Ability to analyse transaction messages, application logs, system responses, and data across multiple integration points.
• Understanding of modern application architecture, including cloud platforms, microservices, event-driven architecture, caching, and persistence technologies.
• Familiarity with CI/CD delivery environments and modern software delivery practices.
• Exposure to Java, Spring Boot, or similar technologies is beneficial for understanding application behaviour and supporting technical analysis.
• Experience using automation or tooling to improve the efficiency and repeatability of functional or integration validation is preferred.
