About this Maintenance Technician, Nights role at CAMACO

2nd shift: Monday - Friday, 6pm to 2:30am (plus mandatory OT)

Purpose

Responsible for assisting in machine repair and minor building repairs to keep the plant running smoothly and maintaining the cleanliness of work areas.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

•    Performs preventative maintenance, assist in maintenance repairs to a wide variety of equipment, building, and general housekeeping.
•    Works in a safe manner and recognizes unsafe conditions. Takes appropriate action to ensure safety of themselves and others in the building.
•    Maintains a schedule of when maintenance has been performed and when next service is due.
•    Report defects, damages and malfunctions of any kind to the supervising authority.
•    Run errands as needed.
•    Communicate with co-workers and others to carry out job duties.
•    Effectively complete all tasks as assigned by the supervising manager.
•    Various other duties as required by the department.
 

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

•    High School Diploma or equivalent.
•    2 plus years of related work experience with plant floor experience.
 

Competencies

•    Thoroughness.
•    Ability to operate basic tools and equipment related to the maintenance and repair of equipment and machines.
•    Time Management.
•    Familiarity with automotive manufacturing
•    Computer skills and math skills sufficient to perform department related tasks required.
•    Communication skills to communicate and interact with all levels of employees.
 

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works on the plant floor.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms.  The employee is frequently required to walk, stand, kneel, crouch, talk and hear.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception.
