About the Role
NewsBreak is looking for a Local Business Development Manager to acquire local advertising budgets at scale. This hire will leverage NewsBreak's local mission to establish a repeatable partnership pipeline in the local / home-services category. This is a foundation-building role tied to NewsBreak's long-term strategic focus on local to break through and improve local ad density in a way that fits the user experience.

Responsibilities
  • Scaled Acquisition: Acquire local ad budgets at scale by building and closing one-to-many partnerships (partner networks, marketplaces, referral/affiliate-style deals).
  • Full-Cycle Ownership: Own the full partnership lifecycle: prospecting, pitching, negotiating, and onboarding one-to-many partners that bring local advertiser demand onto the NewsBreak platform.
  • Category Leadership: Serve as NewsBreak's direct BD presence in the local / home-services category, reducing dependency on agency relationships NewsBreak doesn't directly manage.
  • Cross-Functional Support: Partner with Product, Account Management, and Marketing to ensure new partnerships are supported post-launch and retained.
  • Reporting: Track and report on partnership pipeline, signed deals, and resulting local ad spend / ad density metrics.
What We're Looking For
  • 4+ years of business development, partnerships, or channel-sales experience, ideally with a track record building one-to-many or affiliate-style partnerships (not solely single-advertiser sales).
  • Experience in, or strong familiarity with, the local / home-services advertising ecosystem.
  • Demonstrated ability to source, negotiate, and close scaled partnership agreements.
  • Comfortable working against a longer-term, foundation-building mandate rather than a purely short-term revenue quota.
  • Existing relationships within the home-services, local-lead-gen, or local-marketplace space.
  • Experience at a self-service advertising platform, DSP, or ad network.

Benefits

We offer a competitive benefits package:

  • Health, dental, and vision care for you and your family
  • Top-tier 401(k) plan with company matching
  • Paid time off and paid holidays
  • Paid parental leave
  • FSA and commuter benefits programs
  • Team activity budget
