[What the role is]

Lecturer (Electronics) / School of Engineering

[What you will be working on]

  • Deliver lessons to full-time diploma students and part-time adult learners and undertake all related academic responsibilities in accordance with the role.
  • Design, develop, and deliver curriculum, courseware, and e‑learning modules for full-time and part-time programmes in areas including Power System Analysis, Power Transmission and Distribution, System Protection, Smart Grid Technology, Electrical Design and Installation, and other relevant electrical engineering subjects.
  • Supervise and assess student projects and internships in collaboration with industry partners.
  • Apply appropriate IT tools and multimedia platforms to enhance lesson delivery and learning engagement.
  • Counsel, coach, and mentor students to support academic learning, participation in competitions, career guidance, and personal development.
  • Undertake academic administration and committee work, and support outreach initiatives, local and overseas community projects, and study trips.
  • Plan, lead, manage, and contribute to projects with industry partners, including student internships and capability development initiatives.

[What we are looking for]

  • Qualifications in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related discipline, with at least 3 years of relevant industry experience. A postgraduate qualification will be an advantage.
  • Strong technical knowledge and hands‑on experience in electrical engineering, including:
    • Electrical power systems (generation, transmission, and distribution);
    • Power system analysis, protection, and control;
    • Electrical machines and transformers;
    • Electrical testing and measurement tools;
    • Electrical codes and standards (e.g. IEEE, IEC, and relevant local regulations);
    • Fault analysis, load flow studies, and system stability assessments;
    • Renewable energy systems and grid integration.
  • Knowledge and experience in electronics applications, Industrial IoT, and AI‑enabled IoT systems will be considered an advantage.
  • Proven ability to lead, plan, execute, and deliver industry‑focused projects, including solution development for industrial applications.
  • Self‑motivated and able to operate effectively in cross‑functional and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and multitask effectively.
  • Adaptable, with a commitment to continual learning and professional development.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, documentation, and presentation skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively as a team member.
