About this IT Operations Engineer Internship role at BMAT Music Innovators
In our Recordings team at BMAT, we are responsible for recording more than 7000 channels worldwide in order to feed our real time music monitoring platform (Vericast). To do so, we have deployed more than 250 recording servers all over the world to get even the most remote regional channel.
Your responsibilities will be to support the maintenance and evolution of the current system, helping the recording team take it to the next level.
It is a challenging and ambitious project surrounded by a young and enthusiastic team.
You would be based in Barcelona.
What You Will Be Doing
The objective of the Recordings team is to record audio and video content coming from a wide variety of platforms and countries. Your main tasks will include:
- Help maintain a network of 200+ servers in 50+ countries around the world.
- Help configure servers to capture Audio / Video / TV / Radio signals.
- Assist with installing and maintaining servers in data centers.
- Work with encoding/transcoding of Audio and Video signals.
- Communicate with hostings, providers, customers, and other tech and non-tech teams of the company.
- Help troubleshoot and find solutions to recording and infrastructure issues.
- Support the team in automating repetitive tasks and improving existing processes.
Requirements
- You are comfortable working in a Linux environment and scripting languages don’t scare you.
- You have an instinct for listening, asking, understanding and communicating.
- You get the most out of your time when working in a team.
- You are curious about how things work and enjoy finding ways to solve problems.
- You think uncertainty creates opportunity rather than stress.
- You are self-motivated and always willing to learn.
- You tend to find the most efficient way to solve problems.

- Basic knowledge of networking, servers or infrastructure.
