About this International Community Ambassador role at PeakMade Real Estate
The International Community Ambassador at The Carmin will be the heart of our international resident experience. You will create a welcoming home for students from around the world, help them navigate life at Arizona State University and in the U.S., and connect them with peers through both structured programming and everyday interaction. You will work closely with your team to support resident satisfaction, retention, and leasing goals.
The ideal candidate is fluent in Mandarin and English, brings a strong sense of cultural awareness, and is passionate about creating a world-class experience for our residents.
What You’ll Do:
- Serve as an advocate, leader, role model, and go-to resource for international residents at The Carmin
- Create and maintain a welcoming community for international students from around the world while introducing them to the American university experience
- Help international residents successfully transition into community living, life at Arizona State University, and the greater Tempe community
- Plan and host weekly and monthly cultural events and resident programming, both onsite and in the surrounding community
- Coordinate welcome efforts for international residents during August and January move-ins, and farewell efforts during December and May/July move-outs
- Develop and execute outreach and marketing strategies to engage current and future international students at Arizona State University
- Build relationships with university offices and student organizations (such as International Student and Scholar Services, the Chinese Students and Scholars Association, and the Indian Students Association) to partner on and participate in international student events
- Support the leasing team in attracting and leasing to international students, and lease beds/apartments in person, by phone, or online
- Communicate with residents and prospects in Mandarin and English, including accurately explaining rent, lease terms, and community policies
- Serve as a source of information on academics, student services, campus resources, and student life at Arizona State University
- Provide excellent customer service and serve as an example to the team as a representative of Peak and your community
- Adhere to Peak policies and procedures, including fair housing standards
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Property Manager
What You’ll Need:
- Fluency in Mandarin and English (speaking, reading, and writing) required
- Currently enrolled as a full-time, degree-seeking student, or a bachelor’s degree graduate
- Previous leadership involvement (student organizations, resident life, peer mentoring, or similar)
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to engage diverse populations, facilitate cross-cultural connection, and create programming for a global audience
- Cultural sensitivity and an open mind toward diversity and global awareness; international or multicultural experience is a plus
- A desire to help others and impact your community
- Availability to work evenings and weekends as required
- Proven ability to demonstrate and embody The Peak Mindsets and Standards
