Job Description:

Parsons is looking for a highly skilled Interior Designer to lead the planning and execution of workplace interior projects, including space planning, furniture, finishes, art, branding, and signage. This role will partner closely with customers, government representatives, vendors, contractors, and other project stakeholders to understand workplace requirements; recommend durable, functional, and aesthetically appropriate finishes and furnishings; and develop spaces that support the health, safety, well-being, productivity, and long-term needs of the workforce. The position combines interior design expertise with furniture planning, procurement coordination, vendor management, inventory control, and workplace move planning.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Meet with clients to assess workplace needs, understand project goals, and develop appropriate interior design and furniture solutions. Select furniture in compliance with Agency standards and develop furniture plans. Provide the Government with manufacturer product updates, product changes, and anticipated lead times.

  • Coordinate the procurement and receipt of goods and services. Track furniture and related product deliverables to ensure they meet approved specifications, quality expectations, and agreed-upon schedules.

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute campus moves involving furniture, equipment, and personnel. Coordinate with customers, movers, vendors, facilities personnel, and other stakeholders to minimize disruption to ongoing operations.

  • Organize, track, and maintain the Agency’s inventory of surplus furniture. Maintain accurate records of available, relocated, stored, and disposed furniture and equipment.

  • Obtain price quotes and cost estimates for furniture, design services, moving services, and related products. Support the evaluation of vendor proposals and recommendations in accordance with applicable Agency and Government requirements.

  • Direct and supervise furniture and equipment deliveries from vendors. Confirm delivery quantities, condition, placement, and documentation, and coordinate the resolution of damaged, missing, or nonconforming items.

  • Schedule and supervise moves and movers. Develop move schedules, coordinate access and logistics, and verify that work is completed safely, accurately, and in accordance with approved plans.

Required Clearance:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

  • Must have an active TS/SCI clearance.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Facilities Planning, or a related field and 8+ years of relevant experience, or a master’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field with applicable professional experience.

  • Minimum of 4 years of direct interior design experience, including experience with commercial or workplace interiors.

  • Demonstrated experience independently managing or supporting commercial interior design projects and developing recommendations for finishes, furniture, fixtures, equipment, and other design elements.

  • Demonstrated experience reading, understanding, and interpreting construction drawings and technical documentation across architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and information technology disciplines.

  • Demonstrated experience developing interior design concepts, space plans, furniture layouts, color schemes, finish selections, wall décor, and related design documentation.

  • Demonstrated experience producing detailed drawings and design documentation using CAD and 3D or BIM-related software.

  • Demonstrated experience with AutoCAD, Revit, and SketchUp.

  • Demonstrated experience coordinating with customers, Government project managers, building maintenance contractors, general contractors, vendors, and other project stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated experience preparing furniture documentation, drawings, specifications, design criteria, and cost estimates.

  • Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, to build spreadsheets, consolidate input across offices, track project information, and edit or update project documentation.

  • Ability to organize and maintain accurate physical and digital inventories of furniture, art, graphics, branding, building signage, materials, products, and finishes.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, communicate clearly, and work independently in a customer-focused environment.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

  • NCIDQ certification.

  • Experience developing and maintaining interior design standards, processes, procedures, forms, and supporting documentation.

  • Experience researching and procuring innovative commercial design solutions, materials, furnishings, and finishes while balancing performance, availability, maintainability, and cost.
