THE WORK:

  • You’ll support the Project Manager with the day-to-day management, coordination, administration, and field oversight of the project from construction through closeout, helping ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with contract requirements.

  • You’ll coordinate with the Owner, design consultants, contractors, subcontractors, governing agencies, testing and inspection agencies, vendors, and other project stakeholders to maintain effective communication and timely resolution of issues and action items.
  • You’ll maintain a regular on-site presence and monitor construction activities for compliance with drawings, specifications, approved submittals, contract requirements, quality standards, and applicable inspections and testing requirements

  • You’ll review contract documents and field conditions to identify potential conflicts, incomplete or nonconforming work, constructability and coordination concerns, and other risks affecting cost, schedule, quality, or project completion.

  • You’ll support project administration by managing RFIs, submittals, change requests, meeting minutes, action-item and decision logs, correspondence, field directives, contractor documentation, and other project controls.

  • You’ll participate in project, progress, preconstruction, pre-installation, and coordination meetings and follow up with responsible parties to facilitate timely resolution of outstanding issues and decisions.

  • You’ll monitor contractor performance and construction progress, including manpower, sequencing, deliveries, inspections, testing, milestones, and scheduled activities, and communicate delays, deficiencies, coordination concerns, and emerging risks to the Project Manager.

  • You’ll review and monitor the contractor’s CPM schedule, compare planned activities with actual field progress, document key dates, evaluate schedule impacts and recovery plans, and assist with cost and change management, including PIs, CORs, proposals, and time-and-material work.

  • You’ll assist with reviewing monthly Applications for Payment, verifying completed work and supporting documentation, coordinating inspections with authorities and third-party agencies, and tracking deficiencies, corrective actions, retesting, and required approvals.

  • You’ll maintain detailed daily reports and photographic documentation of construction activities, field conditions, safety observations, quality issues, changes, delays, and milestones, while supporting punch-list management, commissioning, Owner training, final inspections, and closeout documentation.

  • Onsite at client site: The work location for this role is onsite with our clients and partners to enable delivery and cultivate our client relationships.

    HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • Minimum 6+ years of construction industry experience, preferably in Assistant Project Manager, Construction Manager, Project Engineer, Field Engineer, Assistant Superintendent, Field Manager, or similar project management/construction management roles on commercial, educational, institutional, or other complex building projects.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, Bluebeam, Kahua, PlanGrid, Procore, or similar construction/project management platforms.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, architecture, or a related discipline is desired but not required where equivalent construction experience is demonstrated.
  • Ability to independently monitor field conditions, recognize potential cost, schedule, quality, and coordination issues, and promptly communicate those issues to project leadership, and to maintain a consistent field presence while also performing the administrative and project controls responsibilities required to support the Project Manager.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting the day-to-day management and field administration of construction projects, with strong knowledge of construction means and methods and the ability to effectively coordinate with contractors, design professionals, consultants, inspectors, and Owners while reading and interpreting drawings, specifications, contracts, submittals, RFIs, change documentation, and other construction documents.
  • BONUS POINTS IF YOU HAVE:

  • Experience serving in a combined Assistant Project Manager / Construction Manager capacity.
  • Experience managing construction within occupied educational, institutional, or public facilities.
  • Experience with complex renovations, phased construction, utility shutdowns, commissioning, and coordination of multiple trades.
  • Experience with cost management, change-order review, CPM scheduling, and project controls.
  • Certified Construction Manager (CCM).
  • Project Management Professional (PMP).
