The Role

As an Industrial Software Engineer, you will design and develop HMI and SCADA applications for industrial automation projects, applying modern software engineering practices and object-oriented design principles.

We welcome engineers with a strong software development background, regardless of previous experience with a specific SCADA platform. Experience in industrial applications is a plus, but solid programming skills, problem-solving ability, and a willingness to learn are equally valued.

You will collaborate with automation engineers, project teams, and customers to deliver reliable, scalable, and user-friendly software solutions.

The position is primarily office-based, with occasional presence at customers or project sites, mainly for commissioning, testing, troubleshooting, or project support.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze operational and technical requirements.
• Design, develop, test, and maintain HMI/SCADA applications.
• Apply object-oriented programming principles and software engineering best practices.
• Develop application functionality, interfaces, scripts, and software components.
• Integrate applications with PLCs, databases, and external systems.
• Participate in software architecture, system design, and commissioning activities.
• Troubleshoot, optimize, and support software solutions throughout their lifecycle.
• Maintain technical documentation and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, Automation Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of software development experience.
• Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming and software engineering principles.
• Experience designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software applications.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to translate requirements into practical software solutions.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to learn industrial technologies and occasionally support project commissioning activities.

Nice to Have

• Experience with HMI/SCADA development.
• Familiarity with Siemens WinCC platforms.
• Experience with C++, JavaScript, VB/VBScript, or similar languages.
• Knowledge of SQL databases, system integration, APIs, and Git.
• Understanding of client-server, distributed, or high-availability architectures.
• Experience in industrial automation, manufacturing, energy, or infrastructure projects.
