The Digital, Technology & Distribution segment within Caterpillar is looking for an experienced Human Resources Business Partner to join the team based in our state-of-the-art Brisbane CBD office.

Job Description:

The position primarily supports a key segment of our Cat Technology portfolio, customer coverage across Australia and New Zealand territories, working as part of a global diverse team driving our people strategy.

This position will report to the Human Resources Manager based in the United States.

Principle duties and responsibilities:

As a Human Resources Business Partner, you will perform a variety of HR duties of moderate complexity, allowing you the autonomy to apply demonstrated knowledge of HR policies and procedures.

Responsibilities vary, but may include any of the following:

  • Collaborate with HR Service Delivery and Talent Acquisition functions to ensure a coordinated approach to talent, workforce, and people strategies.

  • Assist managers in addressing individual and organisational effectiveness issues.

  • Provide direction and guidance to employees and leaders in the interpretation and application of employee-related policies, practices and procedures, as well as laws if applicable.

  • ​Be a trusted advisor to the leadership team within the Cat Technology group.

  • ​Ability to lead local and global projects on people matters.

  • ​In partnership with leaders, provide talent development solutions to improve employee engagement, leadership acumen and business results.

  • ​Success in this role requires the ability to operate at both a strategic and operational level, managing HR initiatives while also supporting day-to-day administrative and transactional HR requirements. ​​​

Qualifications:

  • University degree or equivalent experience in a related field.  

  • Prior working experience in Human Resources function

  • Must be proficient in the full MS office suite

  • Experience with Workday will be an advantage

Top candidates will have the following skills and attributes:

  • Labour law and regulations governing the Human Resources function.

  • Sound understanding of human resources policies, practices, and procedures.

  • Effective communicator with the ability to work across all levels of the organisation.

  • ​Excellent customer service with strong stakeholder skills

  • Highly organised with excellent administrative capabilities and a proven ability to manage HR processes, documentation, and data accurately and efficiently.

  • ​Demonstrated ability to analyse situations, make decisions and take measured risks using available data as well as insight.

  • Proven ability to maintain high-level of confidentiality and dealing with sensitive issues.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of total rewards strategies and market remuneration practices, with the ability to analyse compensation data, benchmark roles, and support informed workforce and reward decision.

  • Experience with Workday, Teams and SharePoint is desired or other similar people management systems.
