As part of our growth strategy, we are looking for a HSQE & Vetting Superintendent who will report directly to the HSQE & Vetting Manager and play an important role in the effective implementation, maintenance and continual improvement of the Company’s Health, Safety, Quality, Environmental and Energy Management System (HSQEEnMS). 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS 

• Monitor compliance with the Company's HSQE Management System, applicable international regulations and industry best practices across the fleet. 

• Support the effective implementation and continuous improvement of the Company's Integrated Management System in accordance with applicable ISM, ISPS, ISO and regulatory requirements. 

• Conduct onboard internal audits, inspections and reviews to verify compliance with safety, quality, environmental and security requirements. 

• Coordinate and participate in internal and external audits and ensure the timely and effective closure of findings and non-conformities. 

• Support vessels in preparing for SIRE 2.0, PSC, Flag State, Class and other external inspections and assessments. 

• Monitor the implementation and effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions arising from audits, inspections, incidents and non-conformities. 

• Review and analyse safety reports, incidents, accidents, near misses and observations and identify trends and improvement opportunities. 

• Participate in incident and accident investigations, including root-cause analysis, and support the development and implementation of corrective and preventive actions. 

• Support risk assessments, Management of Change processes and the identification and mitigation of operational hazards. 

• Monitor HSQE KPIs, trends and recurring findings and prepare recommendations for improvement. 

• Support the maintenance and continuous improvement of the Company's HSQE Management System, policies and procedures. 

• Monitor relevant regulatory and industry developments and support the timely incorporation of new requirements into Company procedures and practices. 

• Support emergency preparedness, drills and the Company's emergency response arrangements. 

• Promote lessons learned and safety communications across the fleet. 

• Prepare HSQE reports, statistics and performance analyses for management review. 

• Support crew awareness and compliance with HSQE requirements through communication, guidance, training and monitoring. 

• Cooperate closely with Marine, Technical, Crew and other departments to ensure an integrated approach to safety, quality, environmental and operational performance. 

• Promote a proactive safety culture and continuous improvement mindset throughout the organization. 

CANDIDATE PROFILE 

• Holder of Ship Captain’s license on tanker vessels without limitations or a degree from an Institution of higher education (University degree) recognized by all appropriate State and National Authorities.

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar HSQE position within a shipping company operating tanker vessels. 

• Postgraduate studies in a relevant field will be considered an advantage. 

• Experience in conducting internal and/or navigational audits. 

• Sound knowledge of applicable maritime regulations and industry requirements, including ISM, ISPS, SOLAS, MARPOL and SIRE 2.0. 

• Familiarity with TMSA and MLC requirements. 

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 

• Fluency in written and spoken English. 

• Good computer literacy and familiarity with relevant maritime software and digital systems. 

• Experience with incident investigation, root-cause analysis, and risk assessment will be considered an advantage. 

• Excellent command of written and spoken English. 

• Good digital literacy and ability to analyse HSQE data, trends and performance indicators. 

• Strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills. 

• Ability to influence others and promote a proactive safety culture across both shore-based and onboard teams. 

• Willingness and ability to travel and conduct vessel visits as required.
