About the Role
We're looking for a new member of our People team who loves all things People! This HRBP role sits within the HR Business Partner team, supporting the Corporate Functions (Finance, Accounting, IT, Infosec and Legal) and Marketing client groups. You'll partner closely with Senior HR Business Partners to deliver a world class day-to-day experience for employees and managers, with a strong focus on employee relations and building the coaching capability of our first-line and mid-level managers. This role will be based in Palo Alto, CA. Onsite 3 days per week.
What You'll Do
- Be an AI-native HRBP, not just an AI user. Question how People work gets done today (manager coaching prep, ER documentation, program rollouts) and bring ideas to redesign the workflow around AI rather than just speeding up the old one. Know where human judgment stays non-negotiable; ER, coaching, and sensitive conversations are never handed off
- Let data not just anecdotes guide how you coach managers and flag emerging people trends and issues
- Serve as a trusted, go-to partner for employee relations, helping managers and employees work through workplace concerns, guiding them to the right resolution, and escalating complex or sensitive cases to the Senior HRBP as needed
- Build the coaching capability of first-line and mid-level managers, helping them grow their own people leadership skills rather than just solving issues for them. Covering organizational health, employee engagement, development, and policy interpretation
- Partner with and support the Senior HR Business Partner(s) on business-specific people initiatives and roadmap execution
- Support execution of annual people programs (year-end and mid-year performance reviews, talent reviews, compensation planning, engagement initiatives, succession planning) in partnership with the Senior HRBP
- Partner with Centers of Excellence (Compensation, Talent Acquisition, Talent & Development, DEI, People Operations) to help identify and support process improvements
- Translate ambiguous people/policy questions into clear guidance and next steps, communicating HR concepts simply and effectively to managers at all levels
- Support change management efforts at the team level, helping first-line and mid-level managers navigate organizational or process changes with their teams
- Use AI tools (e.g., Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar) to help draft manager communications, summarize employee relations notes, prep for coaching conversations, and speed up policy research and first-pass answers, always with a human review before anything goes to an employee or manager
Experience You'll Need
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience, ideally with some generalist or HRBP exposure
- Experience handling employee relations matters and coaching first-line and mid-level managers through people challenges
- Foundational experience supporting performance and compensation cycles, manager coaching, or learning & development programs
- Working knowledge of basic labor law concepts
- Strong relationship-building skills, comfortable partnering with managers at multiple levels, peers, and cross-functional HR teams
- Experience working in or with a global/distributed team environment
- Comfort using AI tools in daily work to boost productivity, paired with sharp judgment about when human review and empathy matter most
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
