Logan Health Medical Center's inpatient pharmacy is looking for an experienced Pharmacist to fill the role of Hospital Pharmacy Operations Supervisor.
This newly created position will be responsible for supervising pharmacy technicians and overseeing their orientation, training, competency development, performance, and growth. You'll help strengthen compliance with DEA, DSCSA, clean room, sterile compounding, medication tracking, delivery, security, and waste requirements while ensuring accurate documentation and consistent pharmacy practices.
In this role, you will provide scheduling, ongoing staff education, evaluate processes, and promote high standards for quality and medication safety. This is also a hands-on role that provides some occasional shift coverage and assists with pharmacy technician functions when needed.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or doctoral degree in Pharmacy from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy required.
Current Montana pharmacist license in good standing, with no prior disciplinary action, required.
Minimum of one year of pharmacy leadership experience, including oversight of pharmacy technicians and/or ancillary personnel, required.
Working knowledge of personnel management, financial management, and quality management principles required.
Hospital or inpatient pharmacy experience highly preferred.
Experience with DEA requirements, DNV Accreditation requirements, controlled-substance accountability, DSCSA, or pharmacy regulatory compliance preferred.
Knowledge of IV preparation, sterile compounding, clean room practices, sterility testing, and associated documentation preferred.
RQI Provider BLS certification within seven days of hire or transfer, or before providing independent patient care, whichever occurs first, required.
ACLS certification within six months of hire or transfer preferred.
Ability to exercise independent judgment and work effectively without direct supervision, including during stressful situations.
Demonstrated commitment to excellence through high standards and quality outcomes.
Ability to lead with integrity, kindness, and empathy.
Strong organizational, critical-thinking, prioritization, and computer skills, including attention to detail, a self-directed approach, proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, and the ability to learn additional software.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively, communicate with varied audiences, maintain confidentiality, and manage sensitive situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
Job Specific Duties:
Serves as the organizational expert for assigned program standards; creates program materials, establishes staffing requirements, and ensures the program achieves stated objectives.
Provides administrative support within the department as requested.
Responsible for timely reporting of data as required meeting accreditation standards; prepares financial statements and maintains records pertaining to program activities; responsible for dissemination of changes to members of committee and sub-committees as appropriate.
Processes program expense reimbursements, orders supplies, distributes mail, creates invoices, and processes end of month reports as necessary as applicable to assigned area(s).
Assists in researching new regulations and the effect on the program; makes suggestions for implementation; stays current with industry trends as they relate to job responsibilities as applicable to assigned area(s).
Reviews policies and procedures per department protocol to ensure compliance with accreditation standards as applicable to assigned area(s).
Works with leadership and committees as necessary to enhance program services. As applicable to assigned area(s); performs program and location analysis, data collection, site usage, program effectiveness, and the presentation of process improvement recommendations.
Assists leadership with operating budgets, monitors invoices for department accounts and monthly P&L analysis, department expenses and revenues as applicable to assigned area(s).
Assists leadership with on-site inspections, reports, software and/or hardware implementations, etc. per department protocol and as applicable to assigned area(s). Provides consistent follow through on issues and timely escalation of matters as needed.
Acts as a liaison for multiple stakeholders per department protocol and as applicable to assigned area(s).
Coordinates billing and tracking of multiple tasks per department protocol and as applicable to assigned area(s).
Assures that productivity standards are set according to regional and national standards.
Monitors the management of productivity with fluctuating workload and strives for optimal efficiency in the overall workflow of the department.
Exhibits a commitment to professionalism while undertaking all tasks and in all interactions.
Plans for, develops and implements high quality services for all identified customers in accordance with the philosophy and mission statement of LH.
Keeps abreast of current literature in areas of expertise. Assures regulatory (i.e., State, CMS) and other professional surveys are conducted in a professional and educational manner.
Responsible for the development and implementation of sound business, regulatory, reimbursement and administrative practices.
Prepares contracts and agreements as needed for provision of services. Assures each contract is appropriately signed, current and effective. Responsible for overall coordination and planning of the Pharmacy department, assuring safety, cleanliness and a positive working environment.
Maintains a high level of commitment to the financial success of the organization outside of normal department budget issues. Supports the overall strategic plan and new growth. This commitment is also evidenced by the sound, value-based decision-making over allocation of resources, auditing and monitoring practices, and promoting best practices to ensure the best possible outcomes for our clients and Organization as a whole
Leads the hiring process, preparation and delivery of evaluations and corrective action for assigned staff.
Supervisors may be expected to perform the following tasks regularly:
Creates work schedule and assigns employees to specific work tasks.
Trains and/or coordinates the training of assigned staff.
Oversees and coordinates successful completion of employees’ competency assessments and required training.
Acts as point-of-contact/subject matter expert for assigned staff.
Leads and/or coordinates compliance and quality efforts.

Day Shift - 8 Hours (United States of America)Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week, 8-hour day shifts
Occasional coverage of pharmacy technician shifts may be required
Logan Health operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.
