Minimum Requirements:
3 years of Heavy Equipment Experience (operating cable or hydraulic shovels, excavators, dozers, graders, or haul trucks in an open pit mine)
High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) or 10 years of relevant work experience
Valid driver’s license and a 2-year clean driving record
Proven safety mindset
The ability to concentrate and maintain focus for long periods of time
Responsibilities:
Operate various makes and models of haul trucks, shovels, backhoes, dozers, and/or graders in adherence to our standards and procedures
Complete walk-arounds, safety checks and field level risk assessments and ensure the heavy equipment is running properly and respectfully intervene when necessary
Train and mentor others
Report any necessary repairs to the maintenance team or supervisors and report all incidents, damage and near misses immediately
Participate in and drive continuous improvement programs
Location and other Key Details:
You will work out of our Syncrude Mildred lake or Aurora site in Fort McMurray
If you reside outside of Fort McMurray, relocation of your primary residence to within 60 km of Fort McMurray is mandatory. Relocation support will be provided; we offer competitive housing assistance to eligible individuals
The shift schedule is a six days on/six days off rotation (three days on, three nights on, six days off; 12-hour shifts)
