About Huzzle

At Huzzle, we connect exceptional talent with top opportunities at leading companies across the UK, US, Canada, Europe, and Australia. Our clients include fast-growing startups, digital agencies, SaaS companies, and tech-enabled businesses across industries such as MarTech, FinTech, EdTech, and eCommerce. Unlike traditional outsourcing agencies, we place you directly with innovative companies where you become a valued member of the team.

About the Company

Our client operates and scales multiple e-commerce brands while also growing a dedicated Conversion Rate Optimisation (CRO) agency serving established e-commerce businesses.

As CRO is brought fully in-house, they are looking for an experienced Head of E-commerce Conversion Rate Optimisation (CRO) to take ownership of the optimisation function.

This is a high-impact leadership role combining hands-on e-commerce optimisation with strategy, client advisory, experimentation, and team building. You’ll initially work across three in-house brands alongside a select portfolio of agency clients, with the opportunity to shape the company’s CRO methodology and build the function as the business grows.

Job Summary

As Head of E-commerce Conversion Rate Optimisation, you will own the optimisation strategy across both in-house e-commerce brands and agency client accounts.

Your goal will be to identify and prioritise the highest-value opportunities to improve conversion rates, Average Order Value (AOV), revenue, and profit per visitor.

You’ll combine quantitative analytics with customer research and behavioural insights to develop commercially focused experimentation roadmaps. You’ll determine what should be A/B tested, what should be implemented directly, and ensure designers and developers are focused on initiatives capable of delivering measurable commercial impact.

Beyond execution, you’ll play a key role in developing the company's CRO framework, maintaining the quality of client strategy, presenting findings to stakeholders, and eventually hiring and mentoring additional CRO strategists.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end CRO and e-commerce optimisation strategy across three in-house brands and selected agency clients.
  • Audit new client websites, funnels, analytics setups, and customer journeys to identify growth opportunities.
  • Identify opportunities to improve conversion rates, AOV, revenue, and profit per visitor.
  • Build, prioritise, and manage structured CRO and experimentation roadmaps.
  • Develop clear, data-backed, and commercially focused hypotheses for experiments.
  • Analyse GA4, Shopify, e-commerce, and behavioural data to uncover friction points and opportunities.
  • Use heatmaps, session recordings, surveys, customer feedback, and qualitative research to understand customer behaviour.
  • Determine when optimisation opportunities should be A/B tested versus implemented directly.
  • Brief designers and developers on CRO initiatives, ensuring execution remains aligned with the commercial objective.
  • Review experiment results and assess statistical validity before making recommendations.
  • Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Present CRO strategies, experiment findings, and recommendations directly to clients.
  • Quantify incremental revenue, profit, and commercial impact generated through optimisation initiatives.
  • Maintain a consistently high standard of CRO strategy across all accounts.
  • Develop and continuously improve the company's CRO framework and methodology.
  • Establish scalable processes for experimentation, reporting, customer research, and prioritisation.
  • Hire, mentor, and develop future CRO strategists as the function grows.

Requirements

  • 5–8+ years of professional experience in Conversion Rate Optimisation, experimentation, e-commerce optimisation, or a closely related discipline.
  • Strong track record of delivering measurable CRO improvements for e-commerce businesses.
  • Experience working with established e-commerce brands, ideally generating approximately £1m–£50m in revenue.
  • Advanced knowledge of Shopify or other major e-commerce platforms.
  • Strong proficiency with Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and e-commerce analytics.
  • Hands-on experience with A/B and multivariate testing platforms.
  • Strong understanding of experimentation methodology, statistical significance, and test validity.
  • Experience conducting customer research using surveys, behavioural analysis, heatmaps, session recordings, and other qualitative methods.
  • Strong knowledge of e-commerce UX, customer journeys, landing pages, product pages, checkout flows, and funnel optimisation.
  • Ability to connect CRO activity to commercial outcomes such as revenue, AOV, margin, and profit per visitor.
  • Experience creating and prioritising experimentation roadmaps based on expected commercial impact.
  • Strong client-facing communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to confidently brief and collaborate with designers, developers, marketers, and senior stakeholders.
  • Comfortable owning strategy while remaining hands-on with analysis, research, and experimentation.
  • Previous agency, consultancy, or multi-brand experience is highly desirable.
  • Leadership or mentoring experience, with the ability to build and develop a CRO team as the business scales.
