GYN / MIGS Physician

Headline

For the GYN-focused OB/GYN or MIGS physician who wants to build a surgical practice without carrying general OB call: manage your own GYN population while receiving complex gynecologic referrals from an established network of OB/GYN colleagues.

Overview & Highlights

  • Location: Arizona — opportunities vary by practice and hospital market
  • Schedule: Flexible scheduling may include four 10-hour days, designated surgical days, or reduced FTE when staffing allows
  • Compensation: $300,000-$550,000 general physician base range depending on experience and position, plus work RVU productivity incentives; highly productive physicians may earn $800,000+ annually
  • Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with employer match, life insurance, and long-term disability
  • Sign-On / Relocation: $50,000-$100,000 typical physician sign-on bonus; relocation reimbursement available
  • Additional Opportunities: Customized loan repayment arrangements and compensated leadership opportunities may be considered

Location & Logistics

  • Work Environment: GYN-focused clinical and surgical practice within a privately owned, physician-led organization
  • Hospital Coverage: Most practices maintain privileges at two hospitals approximately 3-5 miles apart, with physicians generally concentrating care at one primary facility
  • Call Expectations: MIGS physicians generally take GYN-only call rather than general OB call; exact rotation varies by location
  • Glendale Call Example: Approximately 10-15 nights per month covering GYN emergencies; confirm exact structure, facility, and backup coverage for the specific opening
  • Start Timeline: We are hiring for the right long-term fit and can be flexible on timing. We welcome physicians available now as well as those considering a planned transition over the next 12-24 months.

About the Opportunity / A Day in the Life

This opportunity is designed for an OB/GYN who wants gynecology and surgery—not obstetrics—to be the center of their practice. You will manage your own GYN patient population while also receiving referrals for more complex gynecologic cases from general OB/GYN colleagues.

For MIGS physicians, the role offers an established referral pathway for patients who require advanced gynecologic surgical expertise. Your work may include outpatient evaluation, office-based procedures, inpatient consultations, and surgical care based on your training and the needs of the individual practice.

Scheduling can be structured around clinical and surgical responsibilities, including the potential for designated surgical days, four 10-hour days, or reduced FTE status when staffing permits. Charting time is incorporated into the schedule, with NPs, PAs, medical assistants, and AI scribes supporting clinical workflow.

MIGS physicians generally participate in a GYN-only call rather than the broader OB call rotation. Call responsibilities may include inpatient consultations and urgent gynecologic procedures, with the exact frequency and coverage model determined by location.

Why This Role Stands Out

  • Focus your practice on gynecology and GYN surgery without general OB call
  • Receive complex GYN referrals from general OB/GYN colleagues
  • Build and manage your own GYN patient population
  • Flexible scheduling may include designated OR days, four 10-hour days, or reduced FTE
  • APP, medical assistant, and AI scribe support with dedicated charting time
  • Privately owned and physician-led, with plans to remain independent

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive gynecologic evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment
  • Build and manage an independent GYN patient population
  • Evaluate referrals from general OB/GYN physicians for complex gynecologic conditions
  • Perform gynecologic surgeries and procedures appropriate to training, privileges, and practice needs
  • Provide appropriate office-based GYN procedures
  • Provide inpatient GYN consultations when required
  • Evaluate and manage urgent gynecologic conditions during assigned call
  • Collaborate with general OB/GYN physicians and other clinical colleagues on referrals and continuity of care
  • Work closely with APPs, medical assistants, nursing teams, and hospital-based clinicians
  • Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation
  • Participate in applicable quality, safety, and care-coordination initiatives

Required Qualifications

  • MD or DO
  • Completed OB/GYN residency training
  • Board certified or board eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology
  • Board-eligible physicians must remain within the applicable eligibility window and obtain board certification within three years of employment
  • Eligible for Arizona medical licensure; active Arizona license preferred
  • Eligible for applicable hospital privileges and credentialing
  • Strong clinical judgment, surgical skills appropriate to the position, and communication abilities
  • Ability to communicate clearly in English

Preferred Qualifications

  • MIGS certification or substantial GYN surgical focus for MIGS opportunities
  • Interest in developing a long-term gynecologic and surgical practice
  • Comfortable receiving complex GYN referrals from general OB/GYN colleagues
  • Early- to mid-career physicians are of particular interest based on patient preference and long-term succession needs
  • Bilingual or multilingual capabilities; a language stipend may be considered with appropriate medical-language certification
  • J-1 and H-1B candidates may be considered depending on the specific opportunity, with J-1 preferred

Malpractice Coverage

Professional liability coverage is paid during employment. Prior-acts/nose coverage may be available subject to underwriting approval. Tail responsibility varies based on length of employment and applicable terms and will be reviewed with candidates before acceptance.

Apply For Consideration
