We are looking for an experienced and commercially drivenย General Manager โ In-Licensingย to lead strategic in-licensing and business development initiatives for pharmaceutical formulation products targeted atย regulated international markets.
The role will focus on identifying and evaluating potential products and partnerships, developing relationships with global pharmaceutical companies and technology owners, leading commercial negotiations, and executing licensing opportunities that support portfolio expansion and international growth.
The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience inย pharmaceutical formulations, in-licensing, business development, regulated markets, commercial negotiations, and technology transfer, with a strong understanding of international pharmaceutical partnerships and product commercialization.
Requirements
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identify and developย in-licensing opportunitiesย for finished dosage formulation products across international markets.
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of potential pharmaceutical products, partners, licensors, and technology owners.
- Evaluate formulation opportunities based onย market potential, product differentiation, regulatory pathway, intellectual property, commercial viability, and supply feasibility.
- Develop and maintain relationships with global pharmaceutical companies,ย CMOs, CDMOs, licensors, and strategic partners.
- Lead commercial discussions and negotiations with potential licensing partners.
- Structure and negotiate key commercial terms, includingย upfront payments, milestones, royalties, supply arrangements, exclusivity, territory rights, and other licensing conditions.
- Coordinate commercial, technical, regulatory, legal, and financial due diligence for potential licensing opportunities.
- Work with internal R&D, Regulatory, Quality, Supply Chain, Finance, Legal, and Commercial teams to assess and execute opportunities.
- Supportย technology transfer, product registration, supply setup, and commercializationย activities following successful licensing agreements.
- Develop business cases, opportunity assessments, financial models, and commercial proposals for potential partnerships.
- Monitor pharmaceutical market trends, competitor activity, product pipelines, regulatory developments, and emerging licensing opportunities.
- Manage ongoing relationships with licensors and partners to ensure contractual and commercial commitments are effectively delivered.
- Identify opportunities for portfolio expansion across formulation products and regulated markets.
- Provide regular updates to senior leadership on licensing pipeline, opportunity status, negotiations, risks, and commercial potential.
- Contribute to long-term international portfolio and business development strategies.
WHAT MAKES YOU A GREAT FIT
- 15+ years of experienceย in pharmaceutical business development, in-licensing, licensing, portfolio management, or a related commercial function.
- Strong experience inย pharmaceutical formulations and finished dosage products.
- Proven experience identifying, evaluating, negotiating, and executingย in-licensing opportunities.
- Strong understanding ofย regulated international pharmaceutical marketsย and product commercialization.
- Established network and relationship-management experience with global pharmaceutical companies,ย CMOs, CDMOs, licensors, and technology owners.
- Strong commercial negotiation skills, including experience withย upfronts, milestones, royalties, supply agreements, exclusivity, and territory rights.
- Good understanding of pharmaceutical product evaluation, regulatory considerations, intellectual property, technology transfer, and supply arrangements.
- Experience managing cross-functional due diligence and coordinating multiple stakeholders through licensing transactions.
- Strong understanding of international market dynamics, product pipelines, competitive landscapes, and portfolio expansion strategies.
- Excellent financial and commercial acumen with the ability to evaluate business cases and investment opportunities.
- Strong leadership, stakeholder-management, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to operate independently and take ownership of high-value strategic opportunities.
- Strong strategic thinking combined with hands-on execution and relationship-building capabilities.
- Experience working with markets such asย Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, South Africa, Malaysia, the Philippines, or other regulated/emerging international pharmaceutical markets will be an advantage.
