Reporting to the Private Asset Management (PAM) Fund Director, the Fund Accountant, PE Fund Accounting will oversee the preparation and review of the portfolio accounting record performed via the administrator and will be responsible for the preparation and coordination of monthly and quarterly reporting to investors. The incumbent will be responsible for daily functions to support the building of the accounting record for private asset funds and separately managed accounts and will work closely with other areas of the investment operations department, front office, and the finance teams.

Position Responsibilities:

• Production of bookings into accounting system and testing of reports for data migration and onboarding.
• Reporting and Data Migration testing.
• Execute the daily and monthly NAV oversight and ensure the overall accuracy of the portfolio accounting book of record.
• Oversight and escalated clearance of issues arising in the recon between the administrator and Manulife’s Internal Book of Record.
• Reconciliation of the trial balance between two systems.
• Quality control and tolerance check all client reporting before publication to investors.
• Act as a liaison between the internal finance group and the administrator to ensure timely issuance of financial reporting data and other requests.
• Adherence to internal policies and procedures.
• Provide Admin data to support the front office, finance, compliance, and internal leadership requests.
• Work with the technology teams to ensure data feeds to the administrator are sound.
• Ensures the team is operating under the strongest control environment and that tasks are completed within procedures and controls, including the usage of proper escalation protocols.
• Work closely with management to implement business strategy.
• Strong contributions in projects, new initiatives, and technology development.
• Conduct regular status updates and reporting on testing progress, risks, and mitigation strategies.

Required Qualifications:

• 3+ years of Alternative Investment Experience in accounting system and testing especially Investran.
• Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset. If the successful candidate is in Québec, proficiency in both languages will be required to support clients from various provinces outside of Quebec.
• Strong analytical skills, Testing background and experience with Alternative investment, Pension or Insurance industry.
• Must have the ability to create and maintain strong relationships with people at all levels and different functions throughout the organization and with external partners.
• Strong planning, communication, and collaboration skills.
