Key Responsibilities: Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

1. Strategic Coordination

  • Design and implement land transportation strategies tailored to various regions in Africa.
  • Coordinate with internal partners to ensure smooth logistics operations.
  • Optimize routing and scheduling to minimize costs and transit times.
  • Client Relationship Management / Support client reporting
  • Identify potential risks in transportation routes and develop contingency plans.
  • Lead and supervise all project team members targets with daily follow-up

2. Clearance Transportation and Scheduling

  • Plan and supervise transportation of commodities end to end (road, rail)
  • Ensure on-time delivery and resolve bottlenecks promptly!
  • Stay updated on changes in transportation regulations and policies across different African countries
  • Ensure that all vital documentation for clearance and transportation is complete and accurate

3.Supplier and Stakeholder Management

  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients regarding land logistics services.
  • Understand client requirements and develop customized solutions.
  • Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction through effective communication and delivery.
  • Regulatory Compliance
  • Maintain communication between field offices, logistics clusters, and operations centers.
  • Liaise with local authorities, customs, and regional partners across African countries.
  • Frequently travel across various locations in Africa.
  • Tracking performance metrics and delivering reports.

4.Compliance, Risk & Safety

  • Ensure adherence to HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) standards and international logistics protocols.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation measures for cross-border operations.

5.Documentation & Reporting

  • Generate analytical reports (indictor tracking, asset management, pipeline flow capacity utilization).
  • Ensure audit-ready records, support and provide input to the development of logistics SOP.
  • Proficiency in logistics software and tools for tracking and reporting.

6.SHEQ

  • Understand and make sure of compliance of the SHEQ Policy within logistics and administrative processes.
  • Ensure logistical and administrative documentation (e.g., shipping records, schedules) aligns with SHEQ procedures and is properly controlled.
  • Report any SHEQ non-conformities in logistics operations to the Regional Commercial Manager.
  • Support SHEQ objectives by ensuring efficient and safe administrative support.
  • Participate in SHEQ training and participate in audits by providing relevant records.

7.Work Hours

  • This role requires regular attendance on-site Monday through Friday. Occasional overtime and weekend work may be required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Solid understanding of African trade routes, customs regulations, and logistics networks.

  • Ability to lead cross-border operations and multicultural teams.
  • Sophisticated data analysis and reporting skills (MS Excel, ERP, or logistics tracking systems).
  • Excellent skills in planning, negotiation, and problem-solving.
  • Commitment to ethical and sustainable logistics practices.
  • Process orientated with a good attention to detail.
  • Highly organised with the ability to prioritise tasks in constantly evolving environment.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and adhere to daring deadlines
  • High level thinking and problem solver
  • Organised and detailed

Reporting Responsibilities

  • Controller Month end report

  • WIP management   
  • Transit times KPI     
  • POD tracking- daily
  • Claims register
  • Demurrage schedules- After project complete sent to client
  • ISO audit samples – All Project Documents must be saved on Shared Folder
  • FFMS system for Project completeness
  • Margin and volume analysis
