What does your job as a Expert Underwriter look like?

In this role, you take ownership across both product development and underwriting activities:

• You contribute to the development and improvement of Property products for small businesses and self-employed clients, and actively propose initiatives to enhance underwriting quality
• You act as a bridge between Product Management and operations, translating insights into concrete product improvements
• You analyze, assess and accept risks within Property, ensuring sound and well-structured underwriting decisions
• You collaborate closely with fellow colleagues from the production team to ensure a consistent and aligned underwriting approach
• You build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with brokers and clients, positioning yourself as a trusted partner
• You stay up to date with market developments and continuously invest in your own expertise
• You support colleagues in complex cases and actively share your knowledge through coaching and day-to-day collaboration with teams such as Sales, Claims, Policy Management and other business partners

This is how you perfectly fit into the team

• You have a solid knowledge of Property insurance within the business segment. Knowledge of liability or other segment relevant insurance products is a strong plus
• You bring at least 2 years of experience as an underwriter in this segment, either with an insurer or a broker
• You are familiar with the business insurance market and the broker landscape
• You combine strong analytical skills with a client- and results-oriented mindset, and you take initiative proactively
• You have strong communication and influencing skills, enabling you to engage with different stakeholders
• You are fluent in Dutch and have a good command of French and English
• You are a true team player, eager to learn and open to change
• You have a bachelor’s or master’s degree (or equivalent experience). A technical background (e.g. construction) is a strong asset
