Job Summary

Summary
Responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and sanitary environment throughout the hospital or healthcare facility for patients, staff, and visitors.

Essential Functions

Sweep, mop, wax, strip, and polish floors; vacuum and shampoo carpets.
Dust and polish furniture, woodwork, fixtures, and equipment.
Clean walls, ceilings, woodwork, door panels, windows, sills, blinds, and glass surfaces.
Empty, clean, and sanitize waste receptacles in assigned areas.
Clean and sanitize restroom facilities and fixtures, including sinks, urinals, toilets, mirrors, walls, and drinking fountains; replenish restroom supplies as needed.
Follow established infection prevention, safety, and sanitation procedures.
Maintain assigned areas in a clean, orderly, and hazard-free condition.
Report maintenance, safety, or sanitation concerns to the appropriate department.
Operate and maintain environmental services equipment and cleaning supplies in accordance with department standards.
Provide courteous and professional service to patients, visitors, and staff.

 

Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred

Licenses and Credentials

Experience
Experience working with the cleaning equipment and chemicals used in hospitals and healthcare centers 2-3 years required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong organization skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently but also be a team player.
- Good communication and comprehension skills.
