We are looking for an experienced and technically strong Engineering Manager with 9–19 years of experience to lead engineering teams responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable enterprise applications. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise in Java and a solid understanding of Order Management systems and processes. You will work closely with product, business, architecture, and technology stakeholders to drive engineering excellence, deliver high-quality solutions, and ensure the reliability and scalability of critical platforms.
This role requires a combination of technical leadership, people management, architecture understanding, and delivery ownership. The successful candidate will be responsible for guiding engineering teams while remaining sufficiently technical to contribute to solution design, technical decisions, and complex problem-solving.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of software engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, ownership, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Design, develop, review, and maintain enterprise-grade applications using Java and related technologies.
- Own the technical delivery of Order Management solutions, ensuring business requirements are translated into scalable and reliable technical implementations.
- Collaborate with product managers, business stakeholders, architects, QA, DevOps, and other engineering teams to define and deliver technology solutions.
- Drive architecture and design discussions, evaluate technical approaches, and ensure adherence to engineering best practices.
- Conduct code reviews and establish standards for coding, testing, documentation, security, performance, and maintainability.
- Troubleshoot complex production and application issues and provide effective root-cause analysis and long-term solutions.
- Plan and manage engineering roadmaps, sprint execution, releases, dependencies, and delivery timelines.
- Identify technical risks and proactively address scalability, performance, reliability, and maintainability challenges.
- Support hiring, onboarding, performance management, career development, and technical growth of engineering team members.
- Work with cross-functional stakeholders to prioritize initiatives and balance business requirements with technical considerations.
Must-Have Skills
- 9–19 years of overall software engineering experience, with significant experience in technical leadership or engineering management.
- Strong proficiency in Java, with extensive experience building enterprise-scale applications.
- Strong understanding of Order Management systems, workflows, order lifecycle, fulfillment, inventory, integrations, or related enterprise business processes.
- Experience leading and mentoring engineering teams and managing end-to-end technical delivery.
- Strong knowledge of software development lifecycle, object-oriented programming, design patterns, and engineering best practices.
- Experience working with databases, APIs, application integrations, debugging, performance optimization, and production support.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, decision-making, and stakeholder management skills.
Good-to-Have Skills
- Experience designing and developing Microservices using Java and Spring Boot or similar frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with Angular and modern web application development.
- Exposure to RESTful APIs, event-driven architecture, messaging systems, and distributed systems.
- Experience with cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, containers, Kubernetes, or DevOps practices.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and modern engineering practices.
- Experience working with large-scale, highly available, customer-facing enterprise platforms.
