About the Opportunity & Team
This role sits within the Ad Experience team, reporting directly to our Engineering Director based in Montpellier, France. This team is responsible for driving the complete lifecycle of a Creative on the Enterprise side of Teads.
We build the core tools that bring digital ads to life:
- Studio: Our flagship WYSIWYG web application designed to craft and animate rich ad experiences.
- Creative Editor: A guided workflow for building streamlined creatives quickly and intuitively.
- Ad Delivery & Players: Proprietary in-browser players that seamlessly render ad formats across millions of web pages.
Our technology stack is front-end leaning (Angular, React, and pure TypeScript formats), backed by robust Node.js and Scala services. A major strategic priority for the team is expanding our capabilities by building an intelligent AI agent. This agent will empower creators inside and outside of Teads to design high-performing creatives faster through an innovative, AI-based design scoring system.
You will manage and support a dedicated, distributed team of 4 frontend/full-stack engineers (3 based locally in Ljubljana and 1 in Montpellier). You will collaborate daily with a dedicated Product Manager based locally in Ljubljana, while the team's overarching technical vision is further supported by 2 Staff Engineers reporting directly to the Engineering Director. We are looking for someone with Frontend or Full-stack experience.

As the Engineering Manager for Ad Experience, your mission is to mentor, support, and empower your engineering team while collaborating closely with product and cross-functional partners to deliver exceptional creative tools. Success in this role means establishing a highly trusting, psychologically safe environment where engineers can thrive, while ensuring the seamless delivery of our AI agent and core creative applications.

- Partner closely with your local Product Manager and UX design to thoughtfully translate product strategies into actionable milestones, balancing new feature development with platform stability.
- Guide the continuous development of our creative platforms (Studio, Creative Editor) and browser ad players.
- Champion the rollout of our AI-assisted design agent and real-time scoring system, encouraging a culture of thoughtful experimentation and shared learning.
Operational Excellence & Collaboration
- Facilitate clear alignment across our full-stack ecosystem (Angular, React, TypeScript, Node.js, and Scala), drawing on the technical expertise of our Staff Engineers.
- Remove blockers and refine workflows with empathy, ensuring the team can maintain a healthy, fulfilling, and sustainable pace of execution.
- Connect your team with cross-functional partners across the wider Teads enterprise organization, ensuring your engineers understand the broader business impact of their work.

What Will You Bring to the Team?

- Leadership or Distributed Work Experience: Proven experience guiding and supporting software engineers as a manager, team lead, or mentor; OR significant experience as a senior/principal engineer working autonomously in remote/distributed setups with a strong desire to transition into formal management.
- Technical Comfort: Strong understanding of modern web ecosystems, comfortably navigating across front-end systems (TypeScript, Angular, or React) and backend setups (Node.js, Scala, or similar).
- Collaborative Communication: Fluent English with strong active listening skills, empathy, and a highly collaborative approach to problem-solving.
- Location: Right to work in Slovenia (Ljubljana-based hybrid setup).
Bonus
- Experience building or scaling rich web applications, WYSIWYG editors, canvas tools, or complex web ad formats.
- Exposure to integrating AI/LLM models or intelligent scoring systems into intuitive, user-facing products.
- Hands-on experience nurturing cross-border collaboration between international engineering hubs (e.g., France and Slovenia).
